Saw this place on diners, drive in, & dives so decided to give it a try. Food was decent but they are heavy on the gravy so much so your entire meal will be swimming in it. Which I’m not a fan of. I mean I like gravy but sheesh! Service definitely could a been a bit better as well.
My order of curried chicken and curried vegetables was delicious. However, I was surprised when the bill for the veggies was so much more than the bill for the chicken. It ended up that the chicken I ordered was for one, but the side dish I got was for maybe 4+ people. I wish it was more clear so that I could have ordered the veggies for just one, also. But other than that, everything was fine. Order was prepared with a reasonable wait time, since I did not call in or order online, and everything was carefully packaged. This is a pretty efficient operation, and the young man clerk was very polite. I just needed a little more clarification on portion sizes.
Sooooo good. The pumpkin soup was incredible. The rice and peas were perfect. Had a combination island fried chicken and roast pork-excellent. Atmosphere is bright and takes you to the islands. Server was great. Will definitely go back. There is a carry out window and the entire time we were eating inside there was never not a line of people picking up carry out-it’s that good. Carry out line seemed to move quickly ?
To whom it may concern,My order of curry chicken today taste ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I’m not sure what happened differently this morning but I can't put my fork down. Anyone that knows me knows that I eat here at least once a week. Hands down the best Jamaican places ever!! Food is bowl licking delicious ?❤️??
Food was excellent. It was the taste of the Caribbean cuisine I was looking for and I wish i could take them back to Georgia.
I was a regular customer at this establishment for about 3yrs. I ordered the chicken curry meal to go on 5/31/2022 at 6:25. When I got home and started to eat it I noticed two strands of hair both curly and different colors. The piece of plastic was yellow. I saved them and took them to the restaurant today 6/1/2022 at 12:10. I was offered a replacement meal of the same kind but I did not want the same thing and the manager refused to allow me to change out for something of slightly higher value. I asked for the owners correspondence and she said that I would have to complain via the web site. I understand that restaurants are a difficult to run but the customer service should not be. I am dissatisfied and never going back.
Carena's was a one of a kind experience. The pumpkin soup was silky smooth and bursting with flavor. Not necessarily sweet, but creamy and savory. Incredible. The Rasta Pasta was also fantastic. On top of a mouth watering menu, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was calm and laid back. I will definitely be coming back and bringing friends for a peaceful and tasty meal.
These bad reviewers have no idea what they talking about.My jerk wings were hot,fresh and amazing.Calamari was greatGot the combo platter.Wow. Oxtail were good.First time having Island fried chicken. It's was AMAZING.Chicken was so juicy and that gravy was unbelievable.Also our waitress was great.We even got to talking about eating meat first when asked if I needed a box.She said she used to eat her rice and cabbage first then the meat but her brother would snatch the meat off her plate so she started eating her meat first.Only thing I was missing was macand cheese. There food was great. Service great
The food here was excellent. I love a good Jamaican dish. I ordered a oxtail and curry chicken combo with rice and beans and cabbage. The atmosphere was very inviting and the service was great as well. Definitely going to go back when i get back in town.
