I love the food, and I bring a lot of people here. But this location is such a MESS to order at. You have to stand at the “bar” to order, but there’s only one register and there’s people sitting and eating at the bar. No one is responsible for exclusively taking order, and no one “moves” people along. Some signage, some guidance would be a lot better. Also if I’m standing there asking “is this the line to order”, please don’t ask the people BEHIND me “are you ready to order?”

Every time I get food here, I am delighted. Today I picked up a tater tot waffle covered with cheese and bacon. Delicious.
I visited the VCU capital waffle location and the lady behind the bar was very friendly. I ordered the chicken n waffles and walked around the shop to see their eclectic decorations. I loved the stranger things lights and the pictures of the characters as waffles. The waffle was fluffy but the chicken was just alright. It only came with 2.5 chicken strips (they cut a skinny chicken strip in half instead of giving 3 full chicken strips). The captain crunch dusting I didn't really taste. I think I'll try a more savory waffle next time.

The mimosa was good and the breakfast taco was okay. Other than that I would say this place is highly overrated! I wanted to go here forever btw! Went and was like, what's this? Highly disappointed!
The food was good but cold. The messed my order up two different ways. But it was tasty and they were super busy. They have a creative way for you to order to eat outside. Just plan to be a minute on the weekend and enjoy the atmosphere.
YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY IN MY TUMMY!!! ?? Omg another 1st visit and boy am I beyond glad I did. I now know there's 2 locations; but I'm glad my girl and I choose the smaller more quaint 1 in the VCU area off N. Harrison because I got to meet the manager Forrest and cook Hunter (isn't that cute lol) who were super cool.Seriously though if you love waffles & mixing things up, you've gotta try ' Capitol Waffle Shop'. I'm talking sweet, savory & spicy all exploding in my mouth at the same joyous time!! ? My choice was the ' Chorizo/egg/melted queso' and my goodness, once you top it w/ that sweet/thick syrup.... It's a wrap. Finally to wet/cleanse my palate; I had to have a mimosa garnished w/ a sugar dusted Belgian ?.The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because they'res not 1 closer to me lol. It's all good, to me definitely worth the 21 min drive; and in my 'Terminator' voice, " I'll be back" ?.$$
