I arrived at a bit before closing and was greeted very warmly. The waitress was busy cleaning but did not hesitate to stop to offer me a menu. I quicky placed my order and the cook came out to read my order as I placed it. The expedited service was due to the closing but they were very warm and welcoming. There is not enough adjectives to describe how delicious the food was. I'm so impressed and appreciative of the service and food.
We had a wonderful time eating at this restaurant. It is so clean and the employees are so nice and accommodating. We were visiting and never had Dominican food before, a must try!!! I have dietary restrictions and they accommodated all of my needs. Mary was our server and she was wonderful. The food was amazing and authentic and fresh. We just happened to try this place based on a review and so glad we did. Thank you caffe coloa and Mary it was such a great experience.
Good authentic Dominican food at its finest. The only thing is my mangu had white onions instead of traditional red onions. I'm sure if I would've asked for red they would've given it to me.
I’m only giving 3 stars because upon entry the staff didn’t greet us and we didn’t feel welcomed. We decided to give it a try as we were the only patrons in the restaurant at the time. The food was very tasty. Just wished the staff made us feel more welcomed and didn’t stare at us as if we had 3 heads.
We was in the area. I was looking for Dominican food found this place.I love everything, the service, the food, music everything clean. We come for Springfield, VA almost 3 hour driving. Definitely If I come to Richmond I will coming back to eat again. Thank you so much.
Craving for Caribbean cuisine flavors? This is the spot.It is a small restaurant that offers dine in and takeout. They have an ample menu that includes sandwiches, meat, shrimp, grains, plantains and much more. A few brands of beer are also sold here.You can tell the Cook is good as soon as you approach the entrance and get to smell what's cooking. All staff members were very helpful and attentive.There was no wait to get seated my party of six. Everything was clean and each order was nicely presented. It was so good that we started eating right away and forgot to get sone pictures to back this up.So far, I think this is the best authentic Dominican Restaurant in RVA. Their prices are very fair.
I LOVE this restaurant! As has been mentioned, the servers are very friendly, the restaurant itself is clean and inviting and the food is fantastic. I really like the Catfish Mafungo and find I am going back there frequently, just for that dish. While I do need to broaden my experience with the menu, the dishes I have had so far are outstanding and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you get. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant
This is one of the friendliest restaurants in town with a nice atmosphere inherited from the previous owners and an interesting variety of dishes served quickly and professionally SO what's wrong? If you aren't familiar with Dominican dishes the staff can not explain or guide you and the menu provides no help as you would expect it to. Our portions were generous in size yet a lot of chicken parts with bones, and mounds of rice or potatoes don't compensate for entree problems. Do your research and lower your expectations before you give it a try.
Ivette and I spend a Saturday two weeks ago. Excellent service good taste of Caribbean food! We come back!
