Horrible, Horrible people skills. I ordered BBQ Sliders, which is a variety of BBQ, chicken & brisket none of with had ANY BBQ sauce on them. When I called & made notice of it I was spoken too in a way so horrible that I can no longer support this place of business.. Do Better! Customers who spend their hard earned money are the reason Buz has 1 of 2 locations STILL OPEN!!!
They're remodeling. While open. It looks like a yard sale getting ready to happen. Random stuff outside, inside, etc.Barbecue was good, not awesome. Could have been served warmer. Just disappointing all around. We really loved the energy and atmosphere of the original location on Boulevard. This just feels tired and old.
Went here on a Monday around 12/12:30, average amount of people but far from packed and no wait to get a seat. Walked in and the “seat yourself sign” greets you. So we did just that right next to the bar, sat there for about 5 minutes or more and nobody came over! There was only two people sitting at the bar so I told my girlfriend, let’s move over there as we will probably get faster service! Bartender was sitting near the register and talking to an employee or customer, no acknowledgement of us being there or anything. we sat there for 5 minutes and said hell with it and left. This place just opened back up and if this is the way it’s gonna be run, it will surprise me if it stays open. You try to support local businesses, but it’s sad when you get better customer service from McDonald’s.
Wonderful experience. Baby back ribs top notch. Impressed with the inside of the restaurant and the service.
There were only a couple of tables in use when we arrived around 11:30 AM Sunday. So we went to sit down at three different ones, and all of the tables were coated with dried barbecue residue (and who knows what else) like they hadn't been wiped down in days. I asked for the waitress to assist with cleaning off our table, and she looked at me as if that was a problem, so I offered to clean it myself, which she let "me" do with a wet towel. Buzz and Ned's online menu states that a complete BBQ pork meal is $11.95 and comes with a choice of two classic sides; we were charged $12.31 each for the meal and an upcharge of $1.53 each for two tiny premium sides (a child-sized scoop of the Mac and Cheese and five Onion rings). The food was good, but portions were very tiny for the overall price.
The brisket and Mac and cheese are to die for. Everything is perfect except the past three times I have ever visited or eaten here the servers were short (rushing us during lunch rush and it wasn’t even busy) and rude to my mom and I who were spending quality time together…. We just wanted delicious food in a casual laid back atmosphere. Unfortunately, the young male & young female who helped us were acting like my mom and I were “inconveniencing” them. Really sad… we would have loved to make this our new regular place but I don’t want anyone to be rude to me let alone to my mom…. We didn’t make you work here! In fact, having worked in the food service industry myself I literally am extremely pleasant, welcoming & engaging and kind to customers who are out with their older parents because I will never forget how they made my sweet old mother and I feel when we were just trying to enjoy some southern bbq…. We just wish we got that southern hospitality too. Super disappointing. I will say the female bartender on Mother’s Day was awesome and genuinely wanted to help us get our order but other than that everyone looks miserable like they don’t want to do their job.Thank you
I went to Buz and Ned's last Sunday for lunch. We entered and were not greeted for a good 5-10 minutes at least upon entering the establishment. We were finally told to sit anywhere by a waitress acting as a host. It took us literally over an hour from the time we sat at our table to when we actually got our food. This was on a less than busy Sunday, so I would definitely not try to go there on a lunch break during a work week.I had a platter with three sliders so I could try multiple meats, and I had collard greens and baked beans. The sliders were not great, the bun quality was underwhelming, as were the brisket and the pulled pork. Both sides were pretty good. Not a terrible spot, but there are much better BBQ locations in RVA.
It was the first time in a long time that my sister and her family had eaten out. Since the pandemic the wait staff has changed. During the last visit my sister and her husband had called ahead to get takeout. When they arrived the noted that the dinning room was finally open. They asked if they could be seated and the hostess said yes. However the two women waitresses told my sister that they could not be served and told her to leave..in addition one of the waitresses threw their order at them. My brother in law who was white was shocked. My sister was the only black patron there that night. Families who walked in and sat down after her. It only her that the waitresses threw out..
I patronized Buzz and Ned’s regularly before the pandemic. Despite the huge sign on its front that says “take out & delivery only,” the dining room has in fact has reopened. Why they would leave that sign up is beyond me. In any event, in an effort to patronize them, I went into the dining room for dinner. After sitting down in a booth, I waited, and waited and waited for service that never came. Did not even stop by to offer me a drink of any kind. I had a chance to review the menu while sitting there, hoping a server would take my order. The choices are much more limited than previously. And the prices have soared. After my visit, I noticed that there are many, many very recent one or two star reviews on different sites. I think I understand why now. I can’t comment on the food, because I left after it became abundantly clear that service was going to take forever.
We enjoy BBQ once in a while but have never been big BBQ eaters. That is until we found this place. They have the best brisket I have ever had. Now that we have found the best, we have already visited again and will keep coming back! They only offer take out and delivery right now due to staffing but do have outside picnic tables to enjoy the spring weather.
