I would have given this place 4 stars, since it's pretty good but not as amazing as other places I've tried. The reason why I have to remove another star is because they completely butchered the Ube ice cream. It tastes nothing like Ube. It was extremely plain, just vanilla ice cream with pulp pieces. Ube typically has a very strong flavor that's in your face, and it also usually has a beautiful bright vibrant purple color (which I know is because of added coloring, but still). This Ube ice cream had neither of those things. I was so taken aback by the lack of flavor that I genuinely thought the server gave me the wrong flavor. When I went up to ask, she told me that it was in fact Ube ice cream, that they had just used less of the root meat so it tasted different. Either way, it just simply was not Ube ice cream.I also got the Mexicali Chocolate flavor, which I very much enjoyed. It was really good, and I usually don't like chocolate ice cream.Both of these flavors were part of their specials, so I'm not sure how good their classic flavors are. They had lots of great things on the menu, including pastries like a blackberry lavender cake and a cherry pie. They also serve coffee. I may come back to try their classic flavors and some of these other menu items one day.
Bev’s has been a local favorite for many years! I grew up on Bev’s as a child and now I share it with friends and family decades later. There are definitely better ice cream flavors in the city, but Bev’s is very reasonably priced, has a great selection, courteous staff and is the most convenient option in the Museum District.
Bev's has to be some of the best ice cream I have EVER had. I have traveled and lived in other countries. The flavors and their intensity is memorable.
Vegan ice cream was delicious. I just wish they had more than one vegan flavor. Service was great.
1 staff member was running the whole place, line out the door. She was doing good, but that's no way to do business in a busy part of town. The milkshakes we got was just 2 scoops blended with milk. Turned out to just be chunky milk. A milkshake uses a better ratio of milk to ice cream.
Absolutely delicious. Was recommended to put raspberry chip with chocolate, and I added a cookie to make my own sundae- what a TREAT. Like silk, joyful silk.
Brownie Sundae is the best ice cream here ..
First time visit to Bevs Ice CreamI ordered Bev's brownie sundae with two of their special favors: caramel macchiato and salted coffee malt with chocolate chip and oreo toppings. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is they had run out of multiple supplies such as hot fudge and whipped cream, thus if I had been told before then I would not have ordered the brownie without these and was really disappointed by this.The service was great and quick.
Espresso Oreo and black raspberry ice creams are all you need in your life. Just don't eat them all before I get there.
