Wonderful Indian cuisine option in Richmond. I neglected to take pics but Anokha Cuisine of India was an absolute gem of a find. The portions are massive, flavors everything I've come to expect from top notch Indian food, and the service was great. We had the Shrimp Koliwada and Paneer Pakora for appetizers (loved it all) and for mains we had Garlic-Herb Salmon w/ Tikka Masala, Garlic Anardana Lamb w/ Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Crabmeat Curry, and a Lamb Vindaloo. The salmon and lamb portions were the largest I've seen for a single plate and the flavors were fantastic. My son said the Crabmeat Curry is his new favorite and I agree it was pretty tasty but he doesn't like my heat level so not spicy enough for my liking. They do offer different levels of heat and my Vindaloo was definitely a good spicy hot. We will definitely be back next time we're in Richmond and craving Indian food.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Years ago I tried eating Indian food in a restaurant, but had a bad experience. It wasn’t until a friend told me about this place Anokha that I decided to give dining in an Indian restaurant another chance. I was pleasantly surprised! I enjoyed my food so much that I forgot to take pictures of it. I ordered the Tandoori Platter and Seafood Goan Curry with Shrimp. I also at a thick lentil soup, and my dessert was a rice pudding. Not only was the food amazing, the staff was so friendly and gave great service. I can’t wait to come back to try something else. I love this restaurant!

We visited Anokhi for our Valentines Day Dinner. The ambiance and food is amazing. Our server Riya was great. She helped us pick the best from menu. She provided us with the best service. We will visit back soon.

If I had the opportunity to give the first like half star. I would have have given it probably 1.5 starts. The good parts of the visit here were the veg kabobs and curries. Naan was also good. Now the nightmarish part was the biryanis. WTH! The rice was raw! The taste was non existent. They asked us are we from Hyderabad, and so we had different taste buds that the northern counterparts. At this point, I would have expected them to just submit to the consumer complaints. We weren't expecting them to return our money, which they obviously didn't after our complaint. The only expectation was that they don't repeat the same mistake with other customers. I had one more issue, the quantities was appetizers was literally a joke.

The best indian food I have ever eaten. Very tasty, excellent sauces. you can pick your own level of spiciness. I had very delicious lamb and my husband had salmon. For dessert I chose rice pudding, which was very smooth and gentle.

The Samosas App was outstanding and the Curries were very good. Negatives were that the amount of meat (lamb) was a little light at a $20 price point. Also, the $9 drink was (way) short on alcohol. Great staff.

Last month I ordered a pickup catered-sized meal for 12 and with the help of Anokha came up with a great menu. The food was plentiful and delicious! Last night we tried some new things and it was the best meal we've had there (and they've all been great). The vegetable pakoras were HUGE and not greasy - we had some sort of appetizer that was like a deconstructed samosa (I don't know the name) and I couldn't wait to eat the leftovers today. The restaurant was well-staffed, clean, COVID-conscious and we had a wonderfully plentiful and very tasty meal on a cold night.

Food was very good. You can also order dishes to your preferred hotness level...I like it pretty hot and ordered medium hotness level which gave a lovely slow burn without totally overwhelming the flavor of the dish. Husband took a bite of mine and said it was too hot..lol. The Naan was delicious with the meal. I chose the chicken curry dish. We ate lunch and got there before it started filling up. They do request that you wear a mask until you are seated at your table and when you leave. Attentive staff that kept our glasses full. The custard mango dessert was lovely and finished the meal off. Good Indian cuisine.

Everything we tried here was phenomenal! I have a severe shellfish allergy and our waiter ensured my food was safe for me to eat, which was much appreciated. Can't wait to go back!

I am not sure why this place has good reviews. It was the worse Indian food I have had so far. Food they served was not only uncooked but also without a test of indian Spices. Meat was dry and vegetables were uncooked. Biryani only had yellow color with dry meat and no flavor.
