Had a wonderful Sunday brunch at Alewife today! I ordered the Spanish mackerel and my boyfriend ordered the frittata. Both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We also ordered a couple of cocktails: a spritz and the rum coffee cocktail. The restaurant was very welcoming and the service was great! We’ll definitely dine here again!
When traveling across the country we find places we want to eat at and zig zag there for our overnights.That’s how we wound up at Alewife enjoying a light but perfect tomato salad and crispy shrimp before splitting a whole rockfish.All were perfect as well as the after dinner manhattans.Reasonable prices, great food, can’t be beat. There was a bit of an air to the service that seemed to be focused on us being outsiders, need to be in to understand kind of deal. But otherwise another good stop across America.
Absolutely amazing restaurant. Quaint little place that really embraces the craft of cooking amazing food at a very fair price. Highly recommend the Artic Char and the Butler Nephew port.

The drinks are delicious and not badly priced. The wine list is diverse and the drinks are very interesting. I can say that the food, ambiance, and service are well worth the expense. The take both cash and cards.
Have heard about this restaurant for a while, and finally made it for tuesday night dinner. restaurant was mainly full. I wish every restaurant followed this formula - fun vibe, professional but relaxed service, excellent food and drinks, and reasonable prices. the menu is definitely fish focused, but there are other options as well. Everything we ordered was exceptionally good. will go back for sure.

Wonderful food and one of the best wine menus I’ve seen in Richmond. Definitely will be back, but make sure to book reservations in advance the restaurant is pretty small. The menu rotates weekly to ensure everything is fresh and in-season.
I went here for restaurant week April 2022! I was able to sit at the bar which was incredibly pleasant. Everyone was very nice and the atmosphere was great vibe. I had the swordfish empanadas, flank steak with kale, and the church hill mess for dessert. It was all divine and made me incredibly happy. I also had two special drinks. The bartender was lovely and great at making drinks. Outstanding. I’ll def be back. ❤️
Quaint restaurant . A must visit in Richmond for it’s inventive delicious food and cocktail menu. My husband and I live right down the street and have visited here many times , it’s our favorite restaurant in Richmond . We love the fresh take on seafood. They always get the flavors right !
Perfect date night or solo at the bar. With so many amazing dishes, go there with an appetite. The service is warm and friendly and dedicated to your dining experience. Appetizers to dessert, food is creative and delicious. Don’t forget about the cocktails. They are equally to die for.
