The service was friendly and timely, and we were able to get outdoor seating for a party of 4. However, the food ranged from mediocre to inedible. The summer corn soup was too spicy for anyone over 40. The gluten free chicken sausage pizza was insipid. The Korean steak, instead of being rare, was raw, the rawness being masked by a slathering of too salty gravy. When after a while I asked our waitress to take it back and have it cooked more, she returned saying the chef could not cook meat that had touched my mouth, although he could cook a new steak. Since we were mostly done with our meal and I did not want to hold up our party, I kept the inedible steak and just pushed it around till everyone was done. The ambient music was awful, but, since we were outside and not near a speaker, it didnât matter much. Reston Town Center has been trying to come back after COVID, a spate of new building projects, and a short sighted new parking policy. Mediocre restaurants like this one will not help. Although we had fun, our group will not patronize that restaurant again.
Lindsey told us the upchange to each additional edamamme was $1 but then the manager came back and said it was $2. we still went ahead and orderd 5 additional but then on the bill we were charged 9 dollars for 4 addtiaonl Dumplings at $2.25. I get the sense the manager and staff is not well trained and no one communicated to us about the charge. Also the food service was very slow given the restaurants was 85% empty. I had signed up for for true foods kitchen thinking I would come here often, but I am not sure now.
Some of the best food I've eaten in my entire life!!! I've never had food fresher, better made, or better for me served at a restaurant before. Their vegan and vegetarian options are abundant, their drinks are tasty (though pricey - be warned they can cost more than the meal!). Everyone who works here is friendly, kind, and seems to love their work. I give this place my highest recommendation!!
Farewell party
Our experience was fabulous. The manager and staff were extremely accommodating of our large group and went out of their way to meet our needs. I highly recommend True Food Reston Town Center!
Everything was delicious! Unique and healthy menu, attentive and friendly waitstaff and manager. Love this place!
We had been to the Mosaic location of True Food Kitchen but this was our first time to the Reston restaurant. It did not disappoint! We sat outside with our dog (they were attentive to providing her with a bowl of fresh water) and ordered several different items to share among the four of us. The cauliflower is a staple for any visit, and we added to that a flatbread, salad (they put the steak in the side so we could share among vegetarians at the table), mushroom and spinach pizza (the almond ricotta is delicious!), and a tuna poke bowl. All delicious and plenty for four. Our server Elizabeth was a delight - attentive, friendly, and charming. We will be back (and will ask for her if she is working)!
Way overpriced
