This was our first time and we had been expecting a Matchbox at least somewhat similar to the one in the Mosaic District. Not even close! There is zero ambiance in this place--they need more artwork on the faux brick walls and large empty large space by the kitchen. The lighting didn't appeal either. Ok, this is subjective, and others might not react as strongly as we did, and also adding to that was the fact that the restaurant was almost empty. We got there early on a Monday night, at 6:00ish and left at 7:15, but it was still pretty empty. The waitperson said it's quiet during the week and is busy on weekends. The wine was overpriced--their only chardonnay being $14.50 for 6 oz.. I ordered the salad with glazed salmon. The green part was good but the salmon was a bit dry and tasteless. Parking is also a bit of a hassle. You can park in the metro garage and they'll reimburse, but we only learned this after we had valeted the car for $10 plus $2 tip. We wouldn't go back.
Stopped for dinner after work and had a great experience. Service was superb and the food was both abundant and flavorful. Best fish and chips in a long time. Live music outside and a very reasonable noise level inside. I very much prefer this location over One Loudoun.
Bridesmaid invitation
Family was able to get together at a well placed, familiar, quality restaurant. Matchbox has always been a go-to because of the great choices on the menu, meaning thereâs something for everyone and the great portions they serve. Staff as well as management always makes one feel appreciated when spending their $$$$$. Job well done!
Food was good, service fineâ¦.piped in music was too,loud inside and out. Only slow in handling payment. Parking there is convenient but an extra cost.
Server was great but all 3 of our dishes ended up missing all modifications.
I got mini burgers with onion straws. WOWWWWWEEE! I ordered fries because I had no idea the onion straws would be such a pile. Delish and the burgers were excellent
Service was suuuuper slow but probably because of the small staff; I do understand but it was tough. Pizza was great as usual but went out on a limb and got the poke tuna bowl; it was terrible. We will be back but Iâll stick to the basics. Nice outdoor space!
Fathers Day. Loved it. Just the happiest place with lots of variety of where to sit. Loved the live jazz for brunch!!
Good food, good service. Took my 89 year old dad for Father’s Day and we had easy conversation and a lovely time.
