Pretty average place. Food is good, not great. Prices are about what they should be, I would say moderate. I would say it's more of a place you go for lunch, something along those lines. Doesn't really have the ambience for dinner. Tables are close together so it can be a bit noisy. Fortunately there is outside seating area which is nice.
We've been to this location a few times, and eat at the Dulles location regularly, so we know what to expect. This time (2pm on a Saturday) it took 31 minutes to get our food (a salad and two wraps) and that was only because the lady who ordered after us complained about the wait. Even with the delay and simple order, they got two meals wrong (missing or wrong ingredients) and the pickles looked like they had been sitting out all week. Very disappointing.
Cafesano is a great place to eat some lunch because most of the food there is pretty good. When you eat at Cafesano the food comes in a decent amount of time but when you order online it is really confusing where the food is at. I would like to see a pick up area or maybe a sign but overall the food is great and the service is okay.
April 2022 Update: It pains me to say the menu diversity and overall food quality at Cafesano has decreased over the past several months. I was disappointed to learn they no longer offer babaganoush as an appetizer or side item; more discouraging was the fact that they have replaced their excellent lavash chips with what appears to be mass-produced, deep-fried "pita" chips which, if I'm being honest, were closer in texture, taste, and appearance to fried flour tortillas. The chicken shawarma sandwich was about as good as I remember, and the garlic aioli remains superb, but the overall experience is such that I am much less likely to choose Cafesano over some of the other Mediterranean options in the area.
When it is done right the food itself is pretty good. However, the customer service here is horrible. The last several times I have ordered from Cafesano the chicken kabob was dry and overcooked. The pita bread was also burnt and hard and impossible to eat with the hummus. It was absolutely inedible.So on March 29, 2022, I thought I'd give them one more try and maybe if I told the manager of my previous experience and placed an order with him perhaps it might turn out better.When I asked to speak to the manager I was told he was "busy" and couldn't speak to me. Since I was the only customer in the restaurant at 5pm I insisted to speak to the manager and was told I would have to wait. I responded by asking what restaurant would tell a customer that and was looked at with a blank stare and again was told he was busy.After 15 minutes the manager finally came out and I expressed my concerns about the food and service. I told him about my last experience at CafeSano and that I wanted to place my order with him. I told him I was hoping he would personally make sure the order was correct. He said he was too busy and couldn't do that. I told him that I had never experienced a manager who had so little concern for his customers and perhaps that was why no one in the restaurant at 5pm. I gave him one last opportunity to keep my business and he said nothing. He just turned and walked away.I left and will never go back. I don't know how a restaurant that operates with complete disregard for their customers can keep the doors open. Hopefully, my review can help others from having such an awful experience.
I ordered an Avocado & Lemon Tahini wrap. In the past, I always had sliced avocado, plenty of shaved asiago, and tahini source that was noticeably there. Yesterday, I had to ask waitress about it, She made me unwrap the food to show me a tiny bit of crushed avocado pieces... one piece of shaved cheese and no taste of source. I didn't make a fuss over this since I was with a friend. But it certainly made me feel being short-changed.
We ordered catering from here for early morning pickup. The staff were all so polite and fast for how early the order needed to be ready. Food was delicious!
The food here is always reliably good and fresh. Their salads are freshly made and the meat is never dried out.
A reasonably priced place to grab a delicious lunch. They serve wine and beer as well and the food is really tasty. The lake view is awesome too.
This is a nice place to go for a healthy salad and outdoor seating.
