Wonderful authentic Sicilian food right here in Portsmouth. Best pizza around. Everything made fresh. Quaint clean little place. Understandably short-staffed. The wait is very well worth it.
Pizza was hot and freshly made
The food was absolutely amazing. The food is so fresh it taste like a home cooked meal. You can tell that the chef loves his restaurant and his job because he takes really great care of his customers. This place is also very family friendly and the workers are awesome. If I could rate this place a 10/10 I would rate it 20/10
I'll give it three stars because the staff and delivery driver are all polite. I ordered the grilled chicken salad, it was cut into large pieces and the chicken was very hard. I will not order that again.
This has easily become my favorite pizza spot! Ever since I moved here from NYC I’ve been searching for my go to spot and I’m so thankful I came across Gino’s. I drive from Hampton to get this amazing pizza, and the pepperoni roll and Gino sticks are the absolute best!! Keep up the great work!
I created my Google review profile today to let people know that I couldn't be paid to suggest anyone go to this restaurant. I'd offer my critique on the food, but was rudely told that they weren't offering dine in services, despite numerous other tables being used by patrons, dining in. When I called to speak to the manager, I was told there was no manager and was then chuckled at. Terrible service, to put it lightly. I will let anyone know who asks. The owner(s) should be aware that one of their employees is turning away paying customers. I hope this is their notice, but won't be back to find out if it is rectified. As a resident of Olde Towne, we will happily support other local restaurants.
We visited Gino's when they first opened, and had a decent experience. We realized it had been a while since we tried them again, and as we are major supporters of small/local businesses, we decided to pop in today for lunch. We walked in and sat at a table, and after about a minute, an employee walked out, looked at us, and mumbled something in our general direction. It was a little noisy due to the television and plenty of other tables so we asked what he said. He rudely told us they were not doing dine in and had no room for us. There were multiple tables dining in and the open sign was on at the front. Confused, we got up and left. My husband called to speak to the manager, and was told by the same rude employee that there wasn't one with a laugh. As you can tell by my many Google reviews, I don't give 1 star reviews often. Being turned away rudely for absolutely no reason is no way to run a business. There are plenty of other options for pizza/Italian food in Olde Towne and we will make sure to take our business to them, as well as recommending our friends and family do the same.
Great pizza!I mean the taste of the pizza is amazing.i didn't give 5 stars since no one is in front to greet you.
I called before visiting for the 1st time. I asked if they had any specials and was told that the "specials are online". So, I hung up, looked online at the specials, and then called back to order a special. When I went in to pick up the pizza, the order was $9.00 more than the online price. I told the clerk and she said, "Oh, those prices are for online." So, I clarified and told her that what she should have said on the phone was that you only get special pricing if you order online. The pizza was ok, but not "NY" pizza. (I'm from New York, and have definitely had better.) I won't be going back as the communication was poor and pizza wasn't what we expected.
First off I ordered my pizza on doordash and I've never had this pizza. First off I got my pizza and cheese sticks which was the wrong order. My wife texted the dasher and they said this was the order they gave them. So my wife called the place and told what we ordered. After talking to employee which was rude and the manager came on the phone and was also rude. He didn't even say sorry or try to remake the order. We tried to eat what we got and again it was wrong. There is nothing special about their pizza and I'm a local. Even the bread sticks were so much cheese that couldn't see the bread. We called back doordash and they are reordering us the right pizza, but after this order comes I will not be order from this from this place . This the worse pizza place in Portsmouth Virginia. Don't ever try them.
