FANTASTIC BBQ ? ? ?Wanted to try a new place, and was in the mood for some ribs. SOOOO happy I picked this place to eat! The ribs, baked beans, and macaroni were so damn good! Highly recommended this place!
Stopped by this place today and all I can say is... I've found the best BBQ in Virginia. I pride myself on being a foodie and Tip's did not disappoint. The owner met us outside and began plying us with samples of everything.He, his wife and staff are very warm and friendly. I wanted to order everything on the menu (seriously) but ended up saving it for my next visit.I ordered the ribs, mac and collards and didn't even make it out of the parking lot. Yep, it is that good! The BBQ sauce is on point too. Call before you head down but when they are open be prepared for amazing BBQ.
We stumbled across this place in between games at Virginia State. The food is incredible, as is the service. We ordered the fish and minced BBQ sandwich. So good. He threw in a rib sample as well. Also incredible. If we didn’t have to leave town I would have absolutely come back for ribs!! Highly recommend!
Passed by this place many times, always wanted to check it out, so glad I finally did!!!! Absolutely some of the best food and nicest people you will find in the area!! Everything is SO good. This is now one of our favorite spots. I rarely ever write reviews, but this one definitely deserves my time! Once you try it, you will know why they are the highest rated BBQ place in the area on Google!
If you have not been to Tip's Ribs-BBQ you are missing out. The food is fantastic. We are Oklahoma natives and smoked meat is what we do. Tip's has been the best smokes meat that we have had this side of Oklahoma. Everything was delicious. From the ribs to the brisket, to the chicken and sausage links....FANTASTIC! All of the sides were flavorful and down right reminded us of true home cooking!!! Last but not least the sauces are great as well and are there if you like. Make time to stop by and get some of the best smoked...real smoked and seasoned Q that you will find anywhere.
Talked with the owner and he told me to write a review so I am. Off the beaten path but what a Gem. The bbq and chicken were amazing. And the sauces add that perfect compliment. Really recommend checking it out. Highly rated for a reason
Fish dinner is bussin’. Leg quarter was amazing. The sauces (bbq and honey mustard) are home made and bussin’. He gave me a sample of the pulled pork and ribs and they were bussin’. -Brob
Seriously, go here!!! We had the rib tray and the minced pork tray... incredible is an understatement!! The owner is extremely nice, he had us sample his smoked chicken since we didnt get any. By sample I mean he just gave us an entire chicken leg and thigh with mustard sauce! It. was. fantastic. I'll be thinking about that meal for years to come. Definitely also get his wifes mac and cheese!!!! And the greens, just wow. If we didnt live 6 hours away we would definitely be having this wonderful family cater our wedding. We are going to do our best to make it back again later today, thats how great it is!!
Visited for lunch today with my partner. We ordered ahead and the food was ready. So can't complain about that. Should have been a quick trip but we became memorized with the hospitality and wonderful conversation from the owner and his wife while the intoxicating scent of his smoker filled the air. Both my partner and I ordered the ribs and the BBQ. Both were amazing and none which made it home to the wives ( which the owner suggested might happen). If you are in the area do yourself the favor of stopping and filling you stomach and your soul. Places like this don't after come around and I pray they open one in Newport News so that I can eat there daily.
~ absolutely the best Carolina style vinegar dipping sauce I've ever had... sweet and tangy! ribs were meaty with a flavorful rub(order take out at the window at the side of the small building...)
