This was down right the worst sea food restaurant I've ever been to. My wife asked for catfish nuggets, and I don't know what type of fish they gave her but it definitely was not catfish. My experience here was absolutely awful. I'm from Mississippi, the catfish state, and I think it's disgraceful the food I received her and very expensive. My fried shrimp was precooked shrimp that was battered and re fried. Just terrible that this is Virginia seafood. I would give them no stars if it were an option. Do better Virginia!!!
Had a great dinner here. Not too expensive
Went here today for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Service and food were both great! Crab legs and steamed shrimp were delicious. Will def be back.
The Lighthouse continues to be a nice dining experience. I took my mom there for her birthday. They've updated the decor as it's been a while since I've been there. It's nice and remains a sea theme but the carpet is gone and the restaurant is a little more open. I feel like without the carpet the restaurant feels cooler (so take a sweater). The menu has changed a little and things are a little more expensive but it is still worth the money. I got the catfish dinner which comes with 2 sides. 2 fried filets, baked potato, and green beans. And, of course, their yummy hush puppies.
It had been a long time since we had visited this restaurant. Food was excellent yrs ago. Food was ok this time. My husband ordered combo platter w LG shrimp and flounder, both fried. The shrimp was good but the fish was not as tasty. One of the pieces of fish looked as though it had been refried again. We did send that back and they sent out another piece. I had baby shrimp broiled. Mine was good. Overall if I was in the area again I might would go back to eat there but I won't go out of my way to make a trip.
What a delight for my hubby and me to be initially greeted at our table with hush puppies and a cheerful waitress ! Aurora then continued to take good care of us. The pork chops, and catfish dinners were excellent. We finished up with delicious lemon meringue pie and strawberry cake. She made us a fresh pot of decaffeinated coffee to complete our dining experience. If we travel this way again, we’ll be sure to stop again.
Always great, what I call good old fashion country restaurant, with good food, good people, and just that down home country town feel. They have been short staff lately, but even with that, they keep that positive attitude, servicing you with a gracious smile and a country hello, I just love it. Its not about the looks, because they still look out of date, but its about the atmosphere and how they treat you that makes you not even care about their outdated decor. The food and atmosphere speaks for itself and thats what keep me going back
Place is alright. The staff was nice and very accommodating although there are a large amount of drunk and disgusting regulars harassing myself and some of the staff and patrons. I’d rather go to the Mexican place next door
My wife and I had a great meal here. Calamari was delicious. Loved the hamburger. Service was attentive. Would definitely recommend
We stayed across street and had asked front desk person for a recommendation. She said a lot of people seemed to go here but she had not Seated immediately and very nice service from Radison She brought our drinks right away and soon followed with a platter of warm, excellent hush puppies. She also brought honey butter and I noticed there was cinnamon on the table. One of Sunday specials was fried flounder and popcorn shrimp which my wife ordered. Her sides were excellent slaw and green beans that reminded me of my grade school cafeteria. She ate most of the flounder and shared the shrimp. I had the all you can eat fried catfish and the slaw. I thought the breading on the fish was good and the initial serving was two nice filets and then I had one additional one. We did not order desert. There is a full service bar which was full and the service seemed friendly
