We went here for breakfast on a Sunday. There were a lot of people coming through which is a good sign for their business. We easily found parking on the street but not sure if that would be possible other than on a Sunday. We both got bagels with lox and cream cheese. Positive: serving it with onions, tomatoes, and capers like in New York. The lox itself was decent. Negative: The bagels themselves were no better than we have gotten at our local Wawa, and certainly not like we get in New England. (but only the lox was advertised as just like in New York). The cream cheese had very little taste (both the plain and the veggie). The prices were reasonable.
I've been here on a few different occasions and I really do love it. The quality of the bagels is top notch and, as a smoked salmon lover, their lox bagel is really delicious. I've also tried their vegan breakfast burrito and, not gonna lie, I was skeptical, but it really blew me away with how good it was. The fans for the kitchen are kinda loud and makes it hard to hear the cashiers, but I dont know if that could realistically be helped and it's definitely a minor issue. Overall, Yorgo's is a wonderful local place to eat!
Omg they are delicious!! I got a toasted plain bagel with butter and half had scallion cream cheese and the other half had the jalapeño cream cheese. Super delicious! I drove here from the beach; worth the drive and will be back! Thanks Yorgos!
We stopped by on New Years Eve. It was very busy which is always a good sign. I ordered the vegan cheesesteak and my wife ordered the vegan sausage egg and cheese. I am from Philly and think this was one of my hands down favorite vegan cheesesteak. My wifes sandwhich was also delicious. We also ordered some loose bagels and cream cheese and had them the next morning. They were also very good. Would definitely recommend and come back if visiting the area.
Great bagel joint, always fresh. More times than not they have the bagels from the day before in bags free to grab if that's your thing. I found the info below on their website: Yorgo’s Bageldashery is located in Norfolk Virginia’s historic Ghent district. Its presence is well known to locals and visitors alike. Its not only the place to find the best bagels in town but also lots of great people who are a part of a growing tradition that began over nineteen years ago when its owner was just a customer who loved bagels…like you. So what better person to tell the Yorgo’s story than its owner Greg Peterman? Here’s Greg on the subject of Yorgo’s past and present.
