One of the Great Restaurants of Norfolk, Voila! is not just an intimate dining experience—with only eleven tables, Voila! gets personal! We arrived as we had hoped, a few minutes before our reservation time—this dining experience for us requires a trip through one of the two bridge-tunnels from the Peninsula to the magic world of Norfolk dining adventures, and if for example you choose as we did the more direct route of I-64 to Granby Street to West Brambleton Avenue, it is best to allow for imponderables in the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel.Voila! can be seen almost as soon as you turn onto Brambleton, and delightfully in this day and age, it sports its own parking lot right in front. We arrived and waited patiently in the car until Voila! opened at 5 PM—and behold, our own assigned Server emerged from the restaurant to escort us to our table! The magical evening had begun! The three of us—celebrating Sheila’s birthday—began the feast with the heavenly Mussel Appetizer, which was generous enough—and rich and delicious enough—to have furnished an entire entree. The Caesar Salad which followed was so good that I realized I hadn’t enjoyeda real one in some years—I certainly enjoyed it now!The entire menu was as classic—and classy—as it gets for entrees. If you have never enjoyed Beef Wellington before, you should certainly depend on Voilà! for your introduction—the pastry is genuine, not the puff pastry now being cobbled on by high-tempered TV chefs, but the real rolled pastry of yesteryear, so light and elegant—and flavorful—that you will never forget the dish as long as you live. The wild mushrooms enclosed with the wonderful Hereford tenderloin inside the pastry shell give the dish a personality that is really gratifying. For those who wish a really rare steak, the Steak au Poivre is almost equally exciting, and certainly as delicious. Sheila, who loves seafare best, elected the Bouillabaisse, and as the portion was so generous, we were all able to enjoy it. This was another classic dish that has not been executed so well since the days of Johnny Lockhart’s—but if you are not as old as I am, you will have to take my word for it! Again, your memory of this dish will last you a lifetime. The chef at Voila! may be Greek, but is a chef of the Ages!It took a long time—and some regret—to choose among the Entrees of Voila! Everything served Wednesday evening was superb, and everything on the menu was tempting. WE LOVE THIS PLACE!

So this was a fantastic surprise. First time. I can not explain how wonderful a dining experience this was. Starting with Angela our host and server, she was terrific, knowledgeable, professional. I would return just based on her service. But that would selling the food short. From the delightful amuse-buuche to the appetizers of muscles and escargot to the entrees of lamb chops, steak au poivre and shrimp & scallops, everything was was superb. The final showstopper was the creme brulee. The service and food was so good we forgot to take pictures. This place is a must visit every time I am in town.

What a find! European style restaurant in the heart of Norfolk. This place is very small and intimate. The food is delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The service was excellent. They encouraged us to take all the time we needed to enjoy our meal. Everything we had was great. Our entrees included the boulaibaise, lamb chops and duck. All were very well prepared and thoroughly enjoyable. It is not cheap, but worth every penny!

??Was there very first time and Was a,Valentín Day's, Ambiance ,service, food was very nice But till end of the dinner ,Ask for the check and ask my big chunk of leftover to go ,We wait for a long time for my to go box ,not showed up and ask for it again waitress was polite to ,went kitchen and cime back ,she said an other person work with may take care of it ,and she said will check on it,After a while she come with box to go and said found it ,say apologies for the delay. We come home and later that night (Valentines Day) it is some ones else left over giving ,I trybto reach them via phone, left messages , no one knowledge to return to us .It is unacceptable bussines practice as a restaurant upper class quality,Hope the ovners or manegment read this and hopefully will do their business more professionally. ?? I m adding the photo of intentionally giving someone's leftover

After I was "evaluated" I was told to leave because despite being a restaurant, that opened up 2.5 hours ago, they ran out of food. All while they had customers looking at their menu's. Signaling that they were just seated and in the process of ordering. If certain "clientele" are NOT allowed please specify that next time...

We had the most amazing meal last night at Voila. From start (mussels in a delicious cream sauce and French onion soup) to our meal (oscar filet with crab, asparagus, and mashed potatoes) to dessert (creme brûlée) - every bite was melt in your mouth fantastic. Our server (Nick) was wonderful - attentive, funny, and so very helpful. We are still talking this morning about how perfect our entire experience was. We can’t wait to return!

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous meal at Voila last night! The setting is very intimate and romantic, a perfect date night diner. I have to avoid gluten in my diet and I was able to easily do so with the menu provided. All of our food was perfectly cooked and impeccably seasoned, we left nothing on our plates, the serving sizes were just right! The entire staff was wonderful and provided the best experience for us. We will be back again and again!

My boyfriend took me here for a date night and it was such a great experience! The dim lighting creates a romantic atmosphere but if you’re just looking for delicious food this place also delivers on that!! The escargot was so tasty, and the cocktails were great. I got the Bouillabaisse and adored it. Overall such a lovely time with excellent service.

Dining at Voila was a great experience. Here are our thoughts for this cute upscale eatery. Easy to find, in Gent section of Norfolk, free parking, very close to front door available Cozy space, very friendly staff Quiet and comfortable setting Menu is varied and not overbearing Wait staff very familiar with offerings and can explain the selections well Nick was our waiter, and we enjoyed his enthusiasm and sense of humor Did not feel rushed so the table could be turned The meals were a little pricey, but the area supports this style of eating

Might be the best food I’ve ever had. Friends who are local took us for dinner and we will be back every time we are in the area. The Duck melts in your mouth as does the escargot. Beef Wellington was superb. The drinks were strong and delicious. Can’t say enough about the staff they super attentive and helpful
