Great new outpost of the Veil - multilevel awesome spot. Friendly staff and quick turn on food. Vietnamese wings were great, pizza good not amazing, fried chicken sandwich with fries was tasty. Must get the hot sauce on the side, really good
A cool three level space and patio with a range of great beers in RR district. The Never2Calm2 and Never2 Again2 Gose are like a tart and light milkshake with passionfruit/raspberry shining through without tasting overly sweet. The typhoon lagoon will make you pucker yet the Master Shredder, Stay Hydrated, and Purely By Chance IPAs had great flavor and finish. Patio space is nice and the roll up doors along the street provide an inside/outside ambience. Satisfy your hunger cravings w bar food and pizza from lil’za.
The house beer “Norfolk” slaps. So good. A hoppy, oaked, brett-ed saison. Delightful.I enjoyed “Deep” also. Master Shredder was great too. The super saturated ipas are not really my style, so ill let that territory for those into that.
The Veil is a must for any hazy/IPA lover. I discovered them back in 2019 when I was in Richmond for two weeks. I was very excited to be able to visit again being in Norfolk for a month & a half. I am from the PNW and The Veil’s beers are hands down my favorite IPAs I’ve had. They have high ABV IPAs but you would never even know. They also always have a ton of new beers on tap & in cans to-go.
Brewery is a nice experience. Beer tastes pretty good. Oddly enough though they don't have flights. Only 6oz and 12oz glasses. They also could do with having a wider selection of food.
Wow, this place is one of the coolest breweries I have visited in Virginia. Everything looked brand new. And the beer was phenomenal. I love IPAs, especially hazy ones, and Veil had a lot of options. As soon as I saw their beer list, I asked my wife to drive the next leg of our trip because I knew I would be sampling many of them- including many high abv beers. We sat all the way upstairs where they have a second bar in a huge open room with garage door windows. It was a beautiful spring day, so many of the doors were open to the breeze and rooftop vistas. They have a decent food menu and we had the wings, which were meaty and delicious. But the beer was the best part. Master Shredder, S.U.R.E., Crucial Taunt, and Chubbles were my favorites- all highly rated on Untappd. There are two more Veil locations in Richmond and everyone was telling us that we must get the Casa Burria tacos in one of the locations- so I will definitely be visiting there soon. The place was clean, the staff friendly and plentiful, and there were plenty of different seating options, including outdoor picnic tables.Visit this place if you are in the area, you will not regret it!
Such a cool place and the workers are incredibly nice - very personable and had awesome suggestions. Atmosphere was very chill and relaxing. We stayed for several hours. Food was great too! Bf got a po’boy and loved it. I got Vietnamese wings - a little salty and superrrrr spicy. Personally I wouldn’t get the wings in that flavor again but that’s probably personal preference. I’m still glad I tried something different :) We will be back!
My husband and I had a pick up order tonight and arrived around 7:15 pm to pick up but my husband wanted a couple beers so we grabbed a couple lagers. He enjoyed them. Always a great experience here but even better tonight because of how NICE EVERYONE was! The young lady on the phone (Sarah) was so lovely (patient & helpful), Juan really made my night and delightfully surprised me by finding me, not a big beer drinker at all, not just 1 but 2 drinks I fell in love with. We ended up ordering one of the drinks to drink there (fruited beer was amazing) but then ordered some to take home (fruited beer, seltzer and a really unique stout). The young lady who helped us find the lovely stout to take home was so patient & sweet too (I’m so sorry I didn’t get her name). You guys truly made our night! Great food (love the codex burgers), great drinks (even for someone like me who doesn’t care for beer much) and PHENOMENAL SERVICE! We are repeat customers and will continue to be. Thank you for being so AWESOME!
Cool atmosphere, plenty of seating. Mellow and unpretentious spot for good bar food and even better brews on tap. Had an amazing piña colada seltzer. Rest of our party loves all the IPAs.
Okay, I was disappointed that, in December, the Vail only had one stout and did not have a brown, not a porter, nor a Belgian double/triple/quad, although there were about a dozen IPAs (as if...). I managed to find a beer that I liked so let by gones be by gones.Oh, no I placed an order for the shrimp po by and they were out of shrimp. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which was OK. Meanwhile my son ordered the Cuban, but they didn't have the Edward's country ham and asked if back would do as a replacement.I was very disappointed.
