I couldn’t pass up the BBQ & Catfish dinner , and of course had to grab the fried Pickles as an appetizer ( tell you the truth those were the best thing from what I ordered. The Mac & Cheese & Bbq was flat tasting to me, but everything else was good , my mom , aunts and uncle enjoyed their meal. But I’ll try this place again when it’s not too hectic
I will start with the service. The only reason this doesn't get a 5. We sat for 20 minutes without having a server take our drink order. That being said it was corrected and from there the experience was good. This was my first time at this restaurant and the food was pretty good. The atmosphere was overall a blended Norfolk atmosphere. I would recommend this to anyone in town or coming for a visit.
Great menu, everything was fantastic. Blacked ahi tuna tacos were flavorful and perfectly cooked. The mac bowl with pulled pork was amazing. We also had the hushpuppy basket with cinnamon honey butter. Crispy outside with a soft center, really great overall. Love the atmosphere and the staff was very friendly!
Fast, hot, and delicious. Fantastic atmosphere and the perfect after work location to meet up with some friends and family to start your weekend right.As a former bartender and server, the cocktails were perfectly balanced, not full of fillers, and one each was more than plenty for this sub 5' person and her guest. Tart, not overly sweet.Do wish the collards had been cut up more than they were, but they were well seasoned, tender, and fresh. Everything else on par or above. Go enjoy ?
this place is absolutely delicious. I was with a bunch of guys who all raved over their brisket and pulled pork. I had the salmon, which is not always the best idea at a bbq joint but it was outSTANDing! the fired green tomatoes were yummy too. with a cool, modern building in the heart of Ghent and super friendly staff, this place is going to become a new hangout. we were there for lunch so we haven't tried the bar scene but that's next on the list. if I could give it an 11 out of 10, I would!
Awesome place, seems pretty popular honestly because it was crowded when we went on a Sunday afternoon. Very nice ambiance and vibe inside with a variety of different seating. Food took a while to arrive but our server Alyssa was nice! I got the Shorty's Fish Basket and it tasted well cooked and seasoned and great with the dill sauce. Came with homemade cole slaw and my side was sauted broccoli ( was okay a little oily. Food portions are good and my friend and I left full and satisfied.
Tried the crab dip, it's not a typical crab dip, it was delicious and came in a bread bowl. We also tried the sampler platter, every thing had a lighter smoke flavor and was also very good. There were four sauce options on the table to choose from. Looking forward to trying other things from their menu.
I went here for dinner with my wife and mom and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The service was great along with the atmosphere of the restaurant. The menu had plenty of options and the drink menu was also substantial. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a bite to eat.
Well the drinks and pork rinds were a great start. There are certain things to expect with bbq and to some extent the food was good. The wings were flavorful while the hush puppies added that southern bite that you crave. The ribs were a burnt, crispy char bite that was not pleasant. Brisket and pulled pork were not to standards either and really disappointed my wife and I. Collards were salty and cole slaw was standard. Really wanted to like this place and for the most part I liked the service and atmosphere, but the food wasn't so great. Henry was excellent, so please go and meet him.
We had a great lunch with my co-workers. We’re visiting town with a business trip and wanted to try this place after hearing good things about it from locals. It was a great experience. Their food was very delicious. Our orders didn’t make us wait too long. Prices were very reasonable for their portion sizes. Staff members were very friendly and the environment was very welcoming. Overall our experience was very pleasant. I’d definitely visit this place again.
