My husband and I have been coming here for 5 years and we recently moved to Richmond. We took a trip one weekend to Norfolk and decided to stop in, really excited for wings. We get there and the place is dead on a holiday weekend Saturday. We wait 10 minutes for a host to even acknowledge us and we get seated. Our waitress was great and super nice so nothing bad to say about her.We both ordered a bone-in wing combo. All of the wings were cold, the sauce, the meat, everything. I informed the waitress just to let them know and she was super apologetic. She then spoke to the manager and came back to us, stating that the manager said “its because of the sauce that the wings are cold. If you want hot wings, get a dry rub.” The manager didn’t even come over to talk to us. We were disappointed to say the least. We didn't want excuses nor did we even want anything, we just wanted them to not serve cold wings to people. Also, the ranch is not homemade anymore, also very disappointing. We got the check and come to find out, they charge for ranch, bleu cheese, celery, and carrots. We were under the impression that a wing combo comes with complimentary celery and dipping sauce. This was once our favorite restaurant but it clearly has gone downhill. I assume the VA Beach location is better so if you want to try this place, we urge you to avoid the Norfolk/Colley location.
It starts with several open tables and yet a 10 minute wait to be seated. After being taken to a table that wasn't even being used, we were met by a friendly waitress. Our orders were taken and the wait began. As time went on other patrons of the restaurant were begining to receive items before us that came after, including the people sat behind us. My son ordered a pineapple juice, a relatively easy thing for a bartender to make with only two people sitting at the bar, and it took several minutes for it to come. We finally received our food after 40 minutes of waiting. The food itself was pretty good however I don't suggest getting wings with rub, my daughter orders some and it looked like they dropped a pinch of rub in one spot of the wing, while my son's wings were a sauce and were decently coated. At the end I observed the table that was sat to our left. They had alcoholic beverages made and some appetizers ordered that came out literally 6 minutes after they were placed. The excuse we were given was short staffed, however you cannot make this claim while people around us are getting similar things brought out in shorter times. It was worth a try but not worth coming back.
I was super excited to try this place for the first time with my brother and dad. When we went in, one of the staff members said it would be a 10 minute wait. There were many tables that were empty, but when we got sat, it was a table that was empty the whole time since we arrived. We ordered, and it took almost an hour for the food to come out, while other customers got their food before us(Mind you these are bigger parties that showed up after us). I got my chili cheese fries and it was mediocre. Then i got my boneless wings, it looked like they just sneezed seasoning on it. I couldve saved time and money by making the same thing at home, and it wouldve tasted 10x better. The servers were struggling trying to buss tables with absolutely no tray. It wasnt a good experience or taste. The only good thing is that im not hungry anymore. Im disappointed, and I would not go here again.
Ordered take out from The Dirty Buffalo. Wanted to try the dirty burger dog.The best part of the meal is the dirty sauce that brings it all together. I know this because I have been there many times before. Forty minutes and two ERT tolls later I arrived at home with my meal. Opened it and did not have ANY DIRTY SAUCE on my food. Called the restaurant to let them know and they (after speaking with the manager) offered to refund $1.50 for the dirty sauce since I didn't want to spend another 40 minutes traveling for dirty sauce or paying additional tolls. To make things better the manager was not available to talk on the phone because they were conveniently too busy. They told me to call back the next day. What a good way to show you value your customers. This has to be the worst customer service I have ever received in life. Fast food restaurants have better service then what I received at this establishment. I won't mention that the mac & cheese barely had any cheese on the noodles. I'm sure that can be seen from the pictures. Order takeout/delivery from Dirty Buffalo at your own risk.**UPDATE** Called back and spoke to a general manager who rectified the situation. He apologized and offered to replace the meal at a later date. I will be visiting again after all. Maybe for dine in only.
Really great experience. My waitress Hannah and the manager Deo were great. She gave a great recommendation for the tag team sauce for the wings. I had a question about why they are now charging for ranch, blue cheese, etc. They explained it well and I fully get it. They also offer other ways that as a customer, I get the desired outcome. Still hope they go back to the first free dip though! Great eats!
On the triple D website and deservedly so. Food was excellent. Service was good. Food and drink delivered quickly
The Dirty Buffalo has great food! The wait staff is always great too! We go for the wings and there are lots of choices and flavors.
My husband and I use to love love love going and even buying take out. It was our go to spot. Literally the last three visits at BOTH Norfolk locations I have been so excited and then disappointed as soon as my food arrives.. it’s been Cold every every every time. Even took my sister and mom recently and it was their first time.. their food was cold. I was almost embarrassed that I hyped the restaurant up.
Great wings, that dirty fries though. Excellent. The bartender had the driest attitude I've ever come across but he meant no harm. Young kids working since it's post covid height and people don't wanna work so my hats off to them. I'll definitely be going back.
Some of the BEST wings & fried cheese curds I have ever had. I had an order of half Sweet Buffalo and half Strawbanero. Both flavors were amazing! Atmosphere was relatively family friendly if you don't mind your children being around an imbibing Atmosphere. Many TV make just about any sporting event available. Pretty awesome place.
