My wife and I had extremely high hopes for Strawberry Fields. She’s Italian(born and raised)and I spent 13 years of my life there. So we know what real gelato tastes like. Consistency was spot on. Flavor, in our opinion is where we found disappointment. Everything tasted like whole milk and milk alone. For Americans who’ve never been to Italy, I guess this works. Needless to say we won’t be back.
The flavors are definitely different but good! Can’t go wrong with their chocolate! A bit on the pricey side but good for the experience of having local made ice cream! The inside is closed and you can only order through the front door. Staff is very nice and extremely helpful!
French Chocolate is so good. Love the outdoor counter. Makes it nearly impossible not to stop once you've had a taste. Friendly, helpful folks, too. Seating area outside beside the shop. Located in walking shopping area on Colley Ave. Perfect dessert stop after dinner.

Quick service, despite having a single person working double duties of cashier and icecream chef.I got the "Ooey Gooey Cake" and my goodness was it delicious! Perfect ratio of cake to Gelato. Great flavor that wasn't overly sweet.I'll definitely plan to visit again before my trip to Norfolk ends?
My husband and I went here for the first time after our Valentine’s Day dinner, and we were very impressed with both the selection and the quality! We got one of the Banana Oreo (vegan) and one of the Chocolate Peanut Butter (vegan). Both were delicious and we will definitely be coming back!
I went to strawberry fields for dessert after dining close by since I have heard great things from friends. I got 4 smalls with lids to take home and try out. The flavors I got were: Banana Pudding, Birthday Cake, Stracciatella, and Orange Chocolate Chip. All of them were amazing! The flavors weren't too overpowering which lets the custard base shine well and overall, all of the flavors shine in their own way! I only got to properly taste the consistency of one of the flavors, which was very smooth and velvety, however, even after being in my freezer for a few days, the other flavors still had a great consistency.Overall, I'd highly recommend stopping by

I can't believe I haven't left a review yet. I've been going here for over 6 years and I'm constantly impressed. Everyone there is so nice and it's spoiled me on never wanting Gelato anywhere else!
