I love all of these locations. Each one has great food. I would say get outside your comfort zone. Order something new.
Would've been 5 stars but they took down the chicken poster where you have to find the worm...I'll change it to 5 when you put it back up food and service wonderful as usual
Got lunch here at the restaurant on Tidewater and it was awesome! Last time I had Pollard's was when I worked at BAE Systems Ship Repair (shipyard) and would eat it every week. That was about 8 years ago.Our family just moved back to Norfolk after living in Virginia Beach for 25+ years and our home is near this Pollard's and I'm so glad we are close! This was my absolute favorite chicken restaurant growing up as a kid when it was located on Bayview Blvd. My favorite is the Puffs!!!! And don't forget the honey to put on it for each bite!? Soooooo good!
I was reading the reviews online and wanted to check it out. Well as soon as I went in I was greeted by a young lady with a big smile. She was very nice and helpful. The food came out and the lady who brought it put could not have been nicer. The customer service is great.I ordered three piece chicken thighs with coleslaw and potato salad. The chicken was so juicy and delicious. The potato salad had a great taste. The coleslaw was not that great but it was ok. One surprise was the puffs. They are really great with the honey. Thank you for making this a great experience.
Best chicken and sides that I've ever had. And I've had all over the country and even overseas. I don't know how they make it simple, yet not. Because it's done right. Other places can be hit or miss. But we've been going there for years, and each time it is excellent. I don't know how they do it. They even got me out of being a vegan, don't tell PETA on me.. I am truly thankful for them being right around the corner. If you haven't been, just go. I've not heard of anyone regretting it. The staff is great too. Love this place.
Great chicken at a great price, I got the chicken tenders meal with two sides and for under 12 dollars, that's including tax, I can't believe how much good food I got.
Excellent fried chicken, and string beans, the mashed potatoes and gravy were unexpectedly delicious. Our biggest surprise though was the carrot cake and the chocolate cake, they were both moist and delicious. I would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting a wonderful dessert. They can compete with bakery quality confections.
Great customer service....great food....tenders were hot and very tender nd and fries were hot....They make every order fresh!!!!. U do have to wait five mins or so...but it's worth it....I wish that had a location n Hampton/newport news.....I enjoyed my visit....
As always, the food was delicious. I order a gizzard dinner with green beans and fries w/puff. I could just eat a plate full of puffs. That's how good they are. The gizzards were hot and crispy on the outside but tender inside. Green beans was also seasoned well. I was very pleased. So many gizzards I couldn't eat all of them. I asked for a to-go box and took the remainder home.
If your thinking about eating here forget it. The staff is rude and continue to talk as customers walk up to order food. Nothing wrong with conversation,. However business is supposed to come first. I finally got to order and had to wait 30 min for an order that was simple. The staff played more than they worked. Food was ok however I'm upset I had to wait as long. The customers behind me left because food was dropped in the floor and I guess.it was something they wanted to order.Ridiculous
