If you’re looking for locally owned quality food, check this place out! You order at the counter and there is seating available. I had “The Drip” and man did it have a kick. The Mac was great, pretty sure they put garlic in it. The prices might seem higher if you’re not from the area but it seems everything is expensive in Virginia Beach, and this food is high quality. All the staff was very friendly and the the cooks were working hard. Order ahead if you’re in a hurry, seems like this place is popular on Grubhub.
I saw them in a review on TikTok and had to try them. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful. I had the salmon Philly with rice and peas, as well as the Drip wings. Everything was delicious. The rice and peas were flavorful, the salmon in the Philly was delicious. The salmon was tender and it merges well with the spices and cheese. The drip wings were so good they had me licking my fingers. They had the right amount of sweet with a kick. Definitely will return!
First time here, and will definitely go back! Pulled pork sandwich was amazing, the fries are good. I loved the salted caramel banana pudding! However, the Mac and cheese was a bit off. I'm not sure if it went bad or what but i couldn't eat it at all. It smelled perfectly fine, just had a really sour/bad taste. Other than that everything was great and I will be returning soon!
Finally got a chance to try this place, and I gotta say I am hooked! I got The Drip which was huge and definitely the best chicken sandwich Ive had around here. The collard greens and crispy seasoned fries were also delicious and came in big portions. The staff was also very friendly and the service was excellent. I'll be back as soon as possible!
Ordered on door dash..got the down home dog & fresh cut fries. One of the best hot dogs I've ever eaten! Food was fresh, hot & delicious. Delivery was quick!
Today was my first time visiting My Mama's Kitchen, and it certainly will not be my last. I don't even know where to begin. I made up a happy food song and got busted several times doing my happy food dance. The cornbread, collard greens, and wings!!!!?? Good Lawd!!! I bought extra for lunch tomorrow. I even enjoyed the Nana Pudding without bananas in it. I was so skeptical, but OMG!!! It has a hint of sea salt in it with caramel. You get that perfect sweet and salty combination. Did I mention that cornbread!!! The customer service is on point. We were greeted with smiles and a good down home family feeling. Heidi is the sweetest! Mo is awesome. I love a man that can throw down in the kitchen. When you have the music playing, dance moves, and that vibe, then you are cooking with love. I tasted love in every bite! It reminded me of myself in the kitchen. I have found a new favorite spot! ?
I had “the drip” sandwich and it was delicious. The guys at the front were really kind. Would definitely recommend for good comfort food!
ONE AND DONE!! The crabcakes are a nice size and have little fillers (not worth $10 each though), but the rest of the food (little containers of sides $5) was expensive too and not really worth the money! We got overcooked mac and cheese that was just ok, greens that had a lot of vinegar, and wings that were very salty, so I couldn't eat them! The little cup of strawberry dessert was good, but not worth $5! Probably be back for just the crabcakes when I get some extra money! ?
