The staff at Mr. Shawarma is always super friendly. My dinner creation was fairly simple, but soooo good! Step 1 I went BOWL, Step 2 I passed on hummus (only because I have a sensitive tongue..lol), Step 3 is spiciness and I'm a lightweight with MILD, Step 4 my protein was CHICKEN SHAWARMA, Step 5 toppings I did PICKLED CABBAGE, CUCUMBER TOMATO SALAD, and SUMAC ONIONS!!! Step 6 was the GARLIC SAUCE! It was delicious ?

Be very careful what you eat at this place.I found a big piece of plastic, like a plastic bag in my pita that most likely got there when they cut the meat. I returned to the cafe and showed what they feed people with. After my request, they gave me my money back for eating plastic for lunch. This is a dangerous place for your life. Never go there to eat.

Worst tasting chicken gyro and Falafel- No authenticity here of mediterranean part:( The works apparently includes soggy Fries inside wrap not as a side, cabbage, eggplant, fries, onions and tomatoes in each with garlic sauce and green sauce( chutney) and there is no taste left of what I ordered : Falafel or chicken meat. Not sure why the main thing is smallest quantity in the wraps but there it was. It’s more chicken wrap with veggies Under American fare

Good and friendly service. Even cooked me fresh falafel right at close. The food tastes good and is definitely worth trying if you're in Norfolk and need a quick meal; although it is a little pricey for the amount of food you receive.

This is now my absolute favorite place to eat!!! Their food is so fresh and perfectly seasoned!! And their prices are very reasonable too. ??? And the canned juice (Peach) from Israel is SO GOOD!!❤️

After going to the ME, I was missing shawarma when I got back stateside. Fillings are a little different, but all the key flavors are there. Delicious.

The food here is delicious it doesn't matter what you put on it, put everything on it if you want, it's still going to be damn delicious.Just be careful with the red sauce it is really hot

Have had problems with my order being correct while ordering on the app to pick up, but never any issues with ordering in person or modifications/special requests. Staff is so polite. I miss the old crew and it’s been awhile since I’ve seen them, but this place is definitely worth a try. You will love it!

This was my first visit to Mr. Shawarma. It was also the first time I had Middle Eastern cuisine. I plan to visit again.

I used to live in Norfolk before moving to Washington, DC. Very possibly the thing I miss most about Norfolk is the falafel bowl (all the way vegan!) from Mr. Shawarma. The delicious anticipation as I walked home with my meal, imagining biting into the hot, crispy falafel and scooping up the hummus and rice with warm pita. I wish I were joking about this being the thing I miss most about Norfolk, but I’m not. Can I get decent falafel in DC? Yes. Can I get the exact magical combination of ingredients that makes up a Mr. Shawarma falafel bowl? No, no I cannot. Mr. Shawarma, keep a light on and a falafel fryer going for me because next time I’m in Norfolk, I’m headed your way.
