Well on the fence about this visit really, treated myself for Mother's Day. Tried Mission Bar-B-Q, for the1st time, it wasn't the type of restaurant I thought it was (shame on me for not doing my research)? Had the Ribeye Steak special and sides, the sides were great. Ribeye flavor good, size too small?.I did enjoy the sides, and bigger then what most restaurants are serving at this time due to the covid food cutbacks. I did not expect this to be a fast-food Smokehouse and that's basically what it is, I thought it was a sit-down nice being served by the waitress kind of dinner as I said before that's my fault for not doing the research. However, I had a friend who did share with me the ribs they were delicious I've had that from here before but that was it and it was only a sample of her rib. Now getting back to my meal, I was very dismayed when I was served my tray of food; I took one look at it and said "that's my steak", I could not believe it and look at how small it was no wonder the price was only $12. The special was with Hawaiian sauce which I kept on the side I do not prefer to have fruity toppings on my meat that belongs for desserts for me.While one of the waiters were cleaning up the tables and changing out the six packs on tables with flavorings and Seasonings (I posted a picture of the containers which needed to be cleaned up) dripping with different sauces and debris, my question is why when he exchanged out the old packs for the new packs why didn't he clean those tops off as well good point right?I saw a Brisket meal and yep should have ordered that thick and juicy. AFTER Intial review update: I received a response the very next day via email regarding my concerns and experience that I had had recently. Mission BBQ does indeed listen to our comments and act upon them. After speaking with the area manager and disclosing my concerns and the advice that I mentioned perhaps for coaching some of his employees he was very kind and polite and professional. Also he gave me some of the history behind Mission BBQ invited me for a personal review of the restaurants in this area. I also received a gift certificate in the mail with which to come back and try out Mission BBQ again. The end results is Mission BBQ does take reviews and their comments seriously and they act upon them surprisingly immediately, compared to other businesses. With this type of action taken by the Mgmt. I would update the review now to four stars. Waiting to return and try out restaurant again and see how that experience goes.
Stopped in a couple weeks ago and I really enjoyed the food. Love the way the food was slow smoked to perfection and that good smoke flavor is hard to come by. Love the atmosphere and how they really support military and first responders, as a vet I love to see stuff like that. Shout out to the crew and I'll definitely stop in again.
Today I would like to share my personal experience and thoughts about dining here today. Myself and my god mother’s flight was canceled this morning until tomorrow morning , so we had to book a room at the hotel next door who by the way highly recommended your restaurant. The minute we opened the door we were greeted by the smell of home cooking and the most and I can not emphasize the MOST amazing staff!!! Aaron is a wonderful young man and Arizona native? the black plate special (aloha Hawaiian ribeye) was absolutely delicious as well as the brisket which both were tender and moist. I spoke with Aaron and told him how the night before at Catch 31 I ordered a steak which was the size of a McDonald’s cookie for $40.00 and failed and fell very short in comparison to my 12.99 meal here. There are not enough words to describe how hospitable your staff were . On a day of complete chaos they definitely made us feel at home.Your black plate special on the left and the 40.00 chunk on the right.
Don't get me wrong the food is good. What make me unhappy ☹️ is normally have just enough time to run in and run out to head to work.I always ask for moist brisket but in the last 4 visits only received moist once and had to have them tell them to make it moist. I don't understand when they don't have peach cobbler they tell me they don't have peach cobbler. ? But they make the choice with my money to not give me moist brisket even though I see them serving moist brisket. Some how I do not get it in my order. So 4 visits $100 plus ➕️ only time my order was right I had to say if I don't get moist brisket I don't want it and I will probably never return as a customer. I just don't understand ? why I can't have what I ordered.A very sad ? customer ?It is simply this, I expect more form MISSION BBQ.It's not just about the quality food. It's about a quality dining ? experience. Weather I come in sit inside, outside pickup or delivery ? I expect the best and should receive the best MISSION BBQ has to offer.
? Diverse barbeque menu with outstanding sauce selection. Each sauce was distinct without being overly spicy . Well prepared and good variety of sides. Very good experience. Looking forward to a return visit.
This Mission BBQ appears to be well managed and very well staffed. The pulled pork is close to top rate and the french fries are pretty good. It's nice to have a wide variety of sauces on the table. Next visit I will ask for a buttered and toasted bun for my sandwich.
Good is excellent! Didn't take long to be served and everything was hot and delicious. We had the yard bird, baby back ribs and pulled chicken sandwich. Everything was cooked to perfection and the sides were tasty too!

The best bbq I have had in Virginia! The Mac n cheese was heaven! The brisket was juicy and tender. The blueberry cobbler is thr best I have ever had.
This location goes above and beyond to make sure you like your food and have a great experience!! We got there just before Noon, and absolutely love the fact that we stood and they played the National Anthem!! I got the beef brisket sandwich and made it a combo with their baked beans, which had brisket in them too!! Amazing taste, served good and hot!!
