Horrible food! Came in to town for my son's graduation from Old Dominion University and was looking for the best food in the area. Across from our hotel was the Waterside District and we got excited that Guy Fieri's Smokehouse was there. My son ordered the pulled pork sandwich, my fiancé ordered a brisket sandwich with baked beans, and I ordered a 1/2 rack of ribs. My son liked the pulled pork sandwich and my fiancé liked her baked beans. Her brisket on the other was full of fat and was salty. She literally attempted to pull out the fat to try to eat the sandwich but coupled with the salt it was too much. My ribs were extremely dry, borderline burnt, and seemed as if it was cooked several days prior and reheated multiple times. The meat was dry and crunchy there was no amount of extra BBQ sauce that made a difference. We ended up throwing the brisket and ribs away. The food was over priced but we paid for it since we expected a much better experience. Guy really needs to check the quality of his food at this location.I am hugely disappointed; I would not go back to this location or recommend anyone to go to this establishment until management was changed or Guy took over the oversight of this location.Extremely disappointed and over priced!!!
This place was very dissatisfied disgusting and horrible food. We visited this location and was excited and expected that since it was Guy restaurant that the food would have been delicious and it was so overpriced and all the food was disgusting. The ribs was dry and tasteless and the red potatoes salad tasted sour like they were expired. Mac and cheese tasted the same way . Guy needs to review his establishment because his reputation is going down with food like this.
The worker left to get more barbecue, and was gone a long time. There were menu items that were unavailable. My wife had the smoked turkey, and my son and I had pulled pork. Our pork was good, but her turkey was fantastic! Don't get the Alabama white barbecue sauce. I had the Carolina mustard sauce and the sweet bourbon barbecue sauce. Yum!!! The beans were good, too. The service needs improvement. The worker was pleasant enough, just not really competent. Just okay.
The restaurant was not open but the small kiosk grill was. Awful. Please close this place. The pulled pork was greasy and tasteless. One scoop of meat on the sandwich. Send your staff up the road to Pierces. They could learn a thing or too
Don't waste your time or money. My husband and I decided to eat here not long after it opened and where not impressed. We were greeted and our order was taken and I asked for an item to be removed from my burger but wasn't. Plus the food was warm at best for it being very slow in the restaurant. We haven't returned since and probably won't.
Well I can’t review the food because I didn’t make it that far. Their hours are modified but everything online seems to say they were open. I was told by a male employee they opened at 7pm. It was only a couple minutes so I waited. 10 mins pass opening time I ask a female employee coming out and was told “NO it’s not open”. So I decided to go eat elsewhere. The guy and girl seem to be upset about something not sure what was going on inside. First impressions were horrible and it’s sad to see Guy’s name at this place that has no good service and poor star ratings!Based on this interaction it would seem I would of gotten horrible service. 2 employees unhappy and upset of being there is not a good thing.
We arrived at 830pm on a Friday and came to everyone cleaning up! The waitress seemed annoyed we were there and said - closed for the evening. I guess they do not want out business, yet the website say your open until 130am!
Need to revise their online hours. Came on a tuesday and it said they close at 8. Whole building was empty, every door locked. Wasted our time and 5 other groups as well. Ridiculous.
No flavor. Chocolate cake...you can't even taste the chocolate. It's barely sweet. Kind of like cardboard. Chicken sandwich blah. Wendy's does it better, I'm not kidding.
We ordered take out excited to try Guy’s restaurant and food. Not impressed. We had the crazy Cuban sandwich, crazy town fries, Cajun chicken Alfredo, and cheese cake challenge. My cousin had the pasta which she said, “It’s not bad.” That it was just a bit dry and needed more sauce but the taste was good. The Cuban sandwich was good. Tasted like a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. I pulled the pulled pork out of it, it did not look too fresh. The fries were really good. We never received the cheesecake.
