Green Onion is a just okay dining experience. There were some things that were done fairly well and others were a miss. I started with a cup of she crab soup, which had good flavor but had very little actual crab meat in it. For my entree I had the steak. On the menu it is listed as "steak au pouivre". Pouivre is not a word in French but I was pretty sure they meant "steak au poivre" which is how I ordered it. The waiter then "corrected" me by confirming my order of steak "au revoir". Okay, whatever, he knew what I meant. I ordered the steak medium and the inside of it was indeed tenderly pink and medium doneness. But while one exterior side had zero char to it, the other side was absolutely char-burnt, giving an off putting taste. It's too bad, it had good potential otherwise. The mashed potatoes side was excellent, and the asparagus was just lackluster as they were overly soft and no crispness to them. So like I said, the entire experience was just okay; it wasn't terrible, but it also isn't anything I'd brag about to my friends.

Had breakfast today with the family. They were out of coffee. How does that happen at a restaurant on a Sunday morning? The food preparation was uninspired. The service was prompt.

So I heard The Green Onion was under new management and had a complete revamp, let me tell you I was not disappointed. First the renovations were clean, the decor was fantastic without being overbearing. I had an opportunity to meet the new GM and he is absolutely amazing and very talented behind the bar. I stopped in for brunch and ended up staying for dinner. I started my brunch with the breakfast shot, a shooter of Jamison, peach schnapps, orange juice and topped off with a bacon strip, omg it was absolutely amazing. For my meal I had the Neptune Benedict! Thick amazing crab cakes full of crab atop an English muffin with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce, when I tell you this thing was good, I could have ordered three more. I ended up stopping back in for dinner a few hours later and decided to try a lobster roll. Now I’ve had the lobster rolls from Maine and they were the best, but this lobster roll definitely gave it a run for its money! I had this and the pear and walnut salad to round out my foodie day! The Green Onion did not disappoint! The staff is very friendly, the prices are great, drinks unbelievably good and food outstanding, be sure to drop by and check them out!

My husband & I stopped by with our 2 kids for lunch after hitting the Chrysler museum. The server was super awesome. He mentioned they’d just re-opened under new management a few days prior. They were undergoing changing the menu & he apologized in advance if they were out of a few things. The food was AMAZING! The chef even made the kids chicken tenders that weren’t on the menu. According to the kids, the tenders were comparable to chick-fil-a buggy, which means they were on point! :)))

Secret time…. Their Apple & Bacon Spinach salad is one of the top 5 light dishes in our area. We often stop in, just for the salad. Go get it. Dessert is also amazing.

The Green Onion has a varied menu, from PEI Mussels (pictured) to burgers. Steak au poivre (pepper steak, also pictured) to chicken, salmon, salads and more. The food is good but not great. The steak was a little over cooked and burned along the edges. The reduction sauce still a little too runny and could have done with more poivre (pepper corns). The bread with the mussels was unbelievable, and use it to dip the savory broth. Very good portion for an appetizer. Wednesday night is unlimited mussels just so you know. The staff were super nice. Kudos

Amazing little atmosphere. I enjoyed a Lobster rolls and man was it great. The fries that came with it were also so tasty. Something about the cracked salt and pepper made it top notch. I had a Mai Tai and that was very enjoyable. Decent price overall

I really enjoyed the cuisine both times that I patronized this establishment. The waitress was very very nice not to mention beautiful, but the general manager was less friendly towards me. I told him that the jazz playing sounded good and he didn't say anything. I don't understand that. It makes me not want to come back despite the delicious food. The 4 stars are for the food and our waitress and not the general manager.

Stopped in for a quick late afternoon lunch... Started off with a couple of excellent glasses of wine then had their cheese board which was superb.. And then we had a wonderful cup of homemade tomato soup along with a salad... all of it was very tasty.... I certainly do recommend that you stop by and enjoy.

Great food and atmosphere! Food is great. You will not be disappointed.
