Extremely terrible service! Took my girlfriend here for her birthday for a few margaritas and hopefully some decent casual mexican, but received nothing but terrible service and left out hungry. Epic fail for her birthday I was soooo embarrassed. Upon entering there was no greeting for anyone. Direct eye contact was made with the bartender but she said nothing. Sooo we assumed we seat ourselves and chose the patio. Sat outside for 25 minutes before I decided to go in and ask a server for a menu which his reply was to jus go over there and ask for one. When I approached the bartender she gave me the meanest roll of the eyes like I was bothering her. Waited another 10 min before my girlfriend had to go inside and order a drink. Soooo all this time without a single greeting. And then ignored right there in the bartenders face. Maragarita sucked!!
We went in with super high hopes as Colley Cantina had been recommended by a friend. Ambiance was cute and our server was nice and attentive. But the food was the downside of this experience. I ordered the Duo Dip appetizer. The queso tasted and appeared to be melted slices of pepper jack cheese. Guacamole had no flavor, I couldn’t taste any salt nor were there any jalapeños. I also ordered a vegan burrito. Which again, had no flavor. I only finished half. Which I honestly had to force down with globs of guacamole and queso on it. I did not take the other half to go. Salsa was also unfortunately a no for me, as it came on the side of my burrito. I can definitely get a better burrito other places in the area for much cheaper. I will probably not be back.
The service was excellent. My food was not great. I ordered chicken tacos on a hard shell tortilla. The chicken had no flavor. The shell was full of whatever the chicken was sitting in probably chicken broth. The taco shell was so soggy that it ruined the experience. It's not something I would ever order again. My daughter had the taco salad and she said it was good. Since I posted this review I was contacted by management. They have offered a free meal prepared properly. I don't go to Norfolk often but I will take them up on it when I'm in the area. Thanking the management for reaching out to me.
The good: patio seating, mojitos, and the salty chips with amazing guacamole! The not-so-good: fish tacos. I had one of my two and really didn't enjoy it as it lacked any flavor besides the spicy chipotle sauce, which it was smothered in.Service was fine, nothing too special.Probably wouldn't bother coming back, but if I did, I'd stick to drinks and apps.
Ate in, no lumpia for the app platter, but subbed with Mozz sticks.Enjoyed playing music on the jukebox.
Absolutely fantastic establishment. To include that gentleman doing music Bingo on Sundays. Literally the most fun I've had in years just watching the guy perform. Thank you so much Colleen Cantina!
We ordered burrito, pork tacos and shrimp tacos.Burrito and pork taco were decent, but shrimp Baja taco was excellent. Few beer selections on tap. Good customer service.
This is definitely my go to for a fun atmosphere (many regulars that make it feel like home) as well as delicious quality food and adult beverages. I highly recommend the fish tacos and their nachos are to die for!
Good food. Earthy atmosphere
Hands down the best for food and beverage on colley. They have inside seating, indoor patio and outdoor patio seating if that makes sense. Either way its a nice set up. Cool happy hour games. Sarah is a cool bartender. I'm sure they're all fantastic but Sarah was one serving us the drinks and we appreciate the quality of her service....great place....5 stars
