Love the vibes here. The combination of industrial and super artsy decor both inside and around the shop create such a cool atmosphere. It's an awesome spot to grab coffee with a friend. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the coffee is fantastic!
The decor is very modern. Good vibe. Good coffee. Nice place to hangout or study.
Coalescence is a great coffee shop for working, meeting up with people, or stopping in for a quick espresso. Every barista is extremely personable and will learn your name. The coffee is some of the best I’ve had in the area. They’ve recently added food the menu and I have had no complaints about anything I’ve ordered. The biscuits are made from scratch and are delicious. It’s more expensive that most other coffee shops but the price is well worth it!
Great coffee and great location, with plenty of open space to settle down and work if needed. There were at least three baristas that afternoon, and one of them almost immediately greeted me with a warm welcome!They offer espresso and pour overs, as well as drip. They use the Yama glass cone pour over, with water at 208°, served in a glass pitcher with a mug.They do not roast their own coffee, but they still have a great selection.Highly recommend this place!
Coalescence is an incredible local coffee shop that is right in my neighborhood. The people who work there are always friendly and the coffee is my favorite in the area. No “full meal” food but the snacks and little baked items they have are very tasty. It is also a great atmosphere to hang out in or get some work done if you need to. Coalescence is easily first or second on my list of coffee shops in the Hampton Roads (Cafe Stella is great as well).
Hampton Roads is started to get more great coffee shops, however Coalescence is by far the best in town. The space is huge and welcoming with great WiFi. The baristas are incredibly nice and make you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. The best thing here is obviously the coffee though - they brew Madcap coffee from Michigan. This is some of the best coffee I've had in any coffee shop, not just in Hampton Roads. The baristas know what they're doing and are happy to talk about it. There are very few places in town that make me wish I still lived here, Coalescence is now one of them.

I have tried hundreds of various coffees and coffee shops over the years, and I am genuine when I say that Coalescence is some of the best coffee I have ever had!Their pour overs, espresso, and specialty drinks are unparalleled!! Plus Chris, Jenny, and all of their staff are top tier people, baristas, and encouragers! Highly recommend this shop to anyone who loves high quality coffee and high quality people!
Great coffee, hot tea and hot chocolate, amazing fresh on-site baking, incredibly knowledgeable staff. They sell equipment for coffee brewing as well as teach you how to use it properly. Stylish t-shirts and hats for sale. The menu might be small but it is well executed!
Long story short, i’m filled with gratitude that the Owner, Jenny, had taken a lot of time out of her day today to help me fix an issue I was having with my pour over. She took the time to essentially train and educate me on many different nuances of coffee brewing and was so kind and honest throughout.What could have been a simple exchange of coffee grounds or debit, turned into a wonderful learning experience.
