Everything about our experience at Captain Groovy's was 10/10 perfect. The atmosphere is great. Friendly and relaxed outside (and surprisingly quiet for how close to the road it is), well-decorated and classy inside. The staff was friendly and had excellent recommendations. Our food came out quickly and was DELICIOUS. The soup and the bread pudding are must-trys. I can't wait to come back
She crab soup is the best I've had to date. I ended up getting 2 cups! Next time it will be a bowl. The prices are great and the service is on point! Shrimp basket was lightly fried and the romalade and cocktail sauce was great! Server Desiree was so attentive and was very friendly! Will be bringing the whole family back and there are a lot of us!
Captain's catch bronzed was fantastic. Excellently cooked Mahi with a golden slightly sweet crust. The Americana broiled oysters were super tasty also.
Fantastic seafood restaurant with great oysters! We got the raw, spinach and bacon and the garlic Parmesan and they were all delicious. Cooked perfectly! We also got the NOLA mussels which were in this light creole sauce that was so good we got 2! I would definitely recommend this place for excellent seafood and laid back atmosphere!
The fried and raw oysters were outstanding! $2 red strip and $4 Frogman! Our server Jennifer was the best!
My family and friends come here at least one day/night every week. The menu is excellent. The food is consistently top notch. The servers are personable, knowledgeable, and efficient! We love the atmosphere on the porch! See you there today!
Good seafood (especially the raw oysters) great service
Was good. Has true outdoor and a covered /sealed patio as well for when it get colder.Menu has a large selection to choose from and all of it was well prepared. I had the shrimp etouffee, the roux was rich and brown, so if you are expecting a spicier dish with the lighter style sauce ask, I don't know if they prepare it any other way.More of a personal preference but a little less sauce would have been better given the richness. Shrimp and sausage was quite good. Vegetables were finely diced, almost minced. Personally I like a little larger cut, they tended to disappear into the roux.
