I am from Texas, so I know a thing or two about BBQ, especially about briskets. Bar-Q was an extremely delightful experience since the food is authentic, and the owner is a real gentleman! It was a taste of home away from home!If you do decide to grab some food, I recommend the brisket burger! 10/10 will go back again :)
We had a delightful time enjoying the weather on the outdoor deck.Great way to celebrate my guy's birthday. We had wine, beer and cheese tray With all the extras.We will do it again!!
I've been there a few times and the food is always good. I've tried the ribs, pulled pork and the brisket. You won't be disappointed.
Wow! Went here bc it was close to our Airbnb and was blown away. BBQ, brownies, and beers all amazing and under one roof. I will be going back any and every time I’m in Norfolk!
Best BBQ in Norfolk/Virginia Beach. Period.These are my folks, and I go here pretty much all the time. Plenty of seating, indoors and out. There is a line for the Bold Mariner Beer, and then there is thatagical window for BBQ. The BBQ is charged by the weight.I ALWAYS get the ribs. The ribs are dry rubbed, and it's what I consider "good to go". They do give you containers of sauce but I never use it. I just it eat it naked, and I'm okay with that.Their sides are some of the best I've eaten, and that's no lie. Specifically, I love their Mac n cheese, and their potato salad is almost as good as back in Hawaii.The Burnt ends taste are literally meat candy. Charred perfectly, with the best type of sweetness.The pulled pork has a nice blend of flavors with a good amount of bark added to the mix.Oh, they make some killer sandwiches with all these meat selections so don't be shy. Spend money on some of the best BBQ in the area.Well done.
So good. Brisket was delicious. Tender as a baby's feeling. Cole slaw refreshing as a drink a hot day. Banana pudding OMG. And they were real nice. I ll most definitely be back.
Bar-Q is amazing. I’ve have BBQ all over the country and nothing else compares. The brisket is fork tender and usually the star of the show but don’t sleep on the pulled pork or in-house-made sausage. Sides are all good! Smack & cheese, green beans, Christmas beans (that’s a fun story).They post some wild stuff on social media too. We always try to stay on top of it so we can try the weirdness. Brisket sushi? BBQ Brunch? Burgers? Fried chicken? Never know what is coming next.

Bar-Q created our cake for our wedding and it was AMAZING!!First, the aesthetics. I sent them a few images of ideas that I liked and they made the cake look even better than any image I had sent. It was so beautiful and classy - white with specks of gold. I was thinking to myself, there is no way this cake tastes as good as it looks. It was THE BEST wedding cake I have ever had. Every guest that ate the cake approached me and asked who made the cake and shared the same sentiments. It was perfectly moist, dense, vanilla with butter cream frosting. I cannot wait for our 1 year anniversary to have another cake made by Bar-Q! THANK YOU, as always, for exceeding my expectations.
We hired Bar-Q to cater our wedding in TN, knowing that when we lived in Virginia they had the best bbq! We had the best experience working with them for our big day. They were so professional and really impressed all the other vendors and guests. We did a buffet style and it was really cool to have Jayme slice the brisket for our guest in line! They also supplied our appetizers for our cocktail hour, which were amazing! I would recommend them x10000. They really have no limits, taking a smoker up a mountain and then serving hot and delicious food without a full kitchen is something miraculous! If you want amazing food and a great experience they are the best!
