First off... they tell you ahead of time to expect slow service (due to both how busy they are and staffing). A pretty accurate assessment. However, the chill vibes a great band make the wait enjoyable. So... kind of glad the service was slow. The food was great. I have never been impressed with crabcakes... like... ever. I mean, never at all. Till I went to dinner at The Train Station. Couple it with the garlic buttered mashed potatoes. Wife ordered the Prime Rib, which was seasoned perfectly. The band was phenomenal. While they were all great, the saxophone player and bassist were the stars. The patio is right on the water front, so add in a spectacular view (at sunset, no less) and it was a great evening.
Made a reservation for one for 6/24/22 @ 7pm. Arrived at 6:55pm. There was no one at the door and those behind the bar didn't say anything so I asked should I just walkthru to the patio. They said no and wait to be seated. I waited about 10 minutes and a line started to form behind me. Finally an older woman (I'm 65) comes out and says to wait minute and leaves again. A barmaid who later sang with the band came out of the ladies room at that time and shook her head as she watched this lady try tofigure out what to do. She finally hands each one of us a menu, silverware but she walks back and forth to the bar for each item. Then she asks each if we want a drink menu. Then walks back and forth for each drink menu.It is now about 7:20pm. She walks myself and another couple out to the patio. Now she cannot locate our names on the list . She leaves us standing by the ramp and seats others. I finally notice my name on a little table stuck in the corner by the door. So the couple finds their table and too. The jazz band started playing and sounded good. The food smelled good. The view amazing. The customer service was a terrible experience. So I sat and waited. and waited. There are servers and greeters walking back and forth totally ignoring me. At about 7:45p I said to the folks at the next table that I must be invisible. So they call their server over for me and her response is that it was not her table. I stood up and gathered my things and begin to leave. When I walk back thru the restaurant to the parking lot there is the greeter and two other staff standing there. I told them I was leaving because no service after an hour. At that time the server who didn't have my table ran out and asked if I was Ms. Morrison. I said yes and she said Pat is your server. That was so helpful so I kept walking. I drove to a seafood restaurant and then got a phone call from Robin Ratley who apologized. Wow. No offer to make things right for wasting my time. I was looking for a safe place to go since I was flying solo and live close by. I was looking forward to this experience. Too bad it turned out to be a bad one. I hope for your sake you have a better one.
Awesome time tonight. Must have reservations. You walk in and look for your name on the table. The elements band was popping and the food was great!!!! Did not wait long for the food. Can't wait to come back!!
Amazing food and service. Buffet every Sunday 19.95 plus dessert just yummy 5 stars
The doors were/are locked. No signage to convey hours,... post online conveys that it may be permanently closed. However, the website conveys that it doesn't open until 6 PM on Fri-YEAH, and has some weird open times Sunday, Blurz-day (Thursday), Fri-YEAH, and Saturday (only for catered events).
Ok. Let’s get past this. Service was polite, patient, slow and inexperienced. But he kept his cool tho. Long wait. Very long. But, it was worth it. Kiss the cook!!!!! I had a grilled chicken salad with ranch, fried catfish filets, broccoli and garlic mashed spuds. Awesome food!!! The band was jumping. Good food. Solid drink. Smooth atmosphere. I’ll be back.
The sign saying they were taking temperatures was false. No one took our temperature and it was PACKED.There's very little room in this restaurant. While at mid-capacity this might add to a homey and personal feel, on busy days it amounts to sitting back to back or knee to knee with a stranger. Although we arrived on time, my party's reservation had been given away. Luckily, the new seats they gave us were much better.I don't recommend the she-crab soup: it's far too sweet. The crab canapes are buttery and crispy but with too much cheese, it overwhelms the crab imo.We waited 1.5 hrs for our entrees. I get it, it was Friday, but just so you know what to expect. I should also mention that our waiter never brought or even offered water refills, which feels like an oversight. The scallops were out, so I got the blackened catfish, steamed broccoli, and mac and cheese. I also had the chance to sample the fried trout and collard greens. Everything except the mac and cheese was good enough to come back for, hence the ⭐⭐⭐ instead of ⭐⭐ review. The mac and cheese...it's definitely homemade, but there's not nearly enough cheese in it, it's very bland. The live music was good, a young man called Talton Manning, but if you've got sensitive ears like mine you may want to bring some earbuds to the restaurant.
So my date and I made sure to make reservations to this place well in advance and got our reservations approved. Upon arriving for our reservation the lady hosting asked if we had a reservation. She asked us over and over even though my dates name was RIGHT THERE ON THE SHEET... right in plain site we both seen the name. The hostess sat us at a table that previously had people sitting there and told us they will be with us. We sat there for at least 15min and no one came to even ask for drink order... the bartender and hostess was both very rude and kept asking if we actually had reservations. I became so upset we decided to just leave. I will never ever visit this establishment again. Just the worst.
The food was delicious. The waiter was horrible. We had to ask for water, napkins, repeat drink orders, utensils to eat out food with. The waiter didn’t remove other stuff to de clutter the table. He rushed us and kept asking were we done. Oh he was just horrible. The bar tender was rude and the drinks needed alcohol added.
Great place to eat and the music is good.
