If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, this is the place. I’ve only eaten here a few times and haven't had a bad experience like the other reviews. However, I would advise you to pay attention to the prices that they ring you up for. I was overcharged, which I did not mind because I didn't leave a tip when I saw that she rang me up for more.
Tacos Mexico is a brilliant restaurant. Now the decor isn't the best and it's kind of small oh, one of those little hole-in-the-wall dolls that you probably wouldn't stop at if you're trying to be fancy, but if you ignore it you will be sorry.The food is great, without a doubt some of the best tacos I've had in this city. I really enjoy the tacos Mexicano, and their Mexican rice is amazing. The staff isn't that warm or welcoming, but I figure that's because a lot of them don't have English as their first language, but they are far from rude or unattentive simply unsocial. Either way I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good taco.
The chicken tasted old, like it was made a couple days prior. The beef used in many dishes was grisly, having to spit out the pieces, not what I expected at all! The waitress did not speak English (not a problem by itself) though she wouldn't help communicate when I tried asking her any questions, she simply smiled and nodded yes. We will not go back.
A hidden 5 star gem! I will be back again and again. Botanas came out Pronto, we found a great selection of Mexican beverages here also. Loved the attentive staff.The food? Simply the best part so far. Loved the tacos Carne asada! ?.. look for me to come back and eat my way through the ENTIRE MENU!Watch for my reports!

DO NOT order online! They state they do not do online orders though it clearly shows online you can for delivery or pick up. Site will double charge you and they will not know where your order is or where your payment went. Was really looking forward to real Mexican food since the area really doesn’t have only to be disappointed by the service. Can’t say if the food is good or not as this ruined our experience.
Food is ok, the meat taste didn't impress, the beef and chicken are good, but the al pastor wasn't good. The pork tamales taste good, the tacos not much I was expecting more since couple of people told me they was the best, the gorditas was great, quesadilla good too, but I give 4 instead of 5 because I was expecting more. But on general is ok, the place are nice and cozy.
What can I say ... The tamales are great , the tacos are made with fresh tortillas, juicy meats and great sauces to top it off with. Prices are the best in the 757 BY FAR. The Tres Leches cake keeps me returning as well ?
If I could give this place negative stars I definitely would. Do not eat here. . I had to call Newport News finest because the location was trying to over charge me for thier mistake. I didn’t want to walk out and pay. And I was definitely not going to pay double for something I didn’t ask for and didn’t eat. And to top it off. the manager said to me.”it’s always the same thing with you people, call whoever you need to call “ Wow. I stayed until the officer arrived. He was helpful and non bias and helped us to come a fair agreement. He also stated this was not the first time the police had to come to this establishment for the same reason.
Better than any main chain restaurant. Plaza or Juans got nothing on this family ran place. Food is amazing only thing is I wish it would expand and be more space...but honestly zero complaints about service quality of food. You know it real when you get them tortillas in a tortilla holder. And no named salsas it's legit like my grandma home.
