I've been eating here since I was a kid. It's a great local joint with a solid sub. Get it toasted and the bread will be wonderfully crispy. The secret sauce is pretty good. Sadly, this one doesn't serve fries like the other location does. I think the only negative thing would be that the "ridiculous" meat option doesn't seem so ridiculous anymore when compared to places like Firehouse.
So I went to this place just expecting it to be a regular sub sandwich shop however it's a really cozy and down to earth shop. The sandwiches are great. So far I tried 2 of their items and both times were good. The Atlantic and Engineer are good choices. They have sandwich of the day so be alert on that if you go here. I recommend their secret sauce as it ups the experience on their subs. Without it just a regular toasted or untoasted sandwiches from Subway.
We have not eaten there in awhile and don't really know why. It was better than I remembered. The staff was great. They were quite busy and that was good thing!!
Horrible customer service! My wife picked up dinner and order was completely messed up. When we called we were told we had to bring the sandwiches (that were already in the trash) back for a refund. I explained that we could not do that because because of other family obligations and offered to send them a picture of the order and what was wrong. They told me I could bring the sandwich back another day as if I’m going to carry around a deli sandwich until I can bring it back. There was no manager on duty and when I asked to leave a message and have them call me I was told I could call them they will not call me back. An appropriate solution would have been to offer a credit for a later time, not ask me to carry around a sandwich until I have the time to bring it back. I do not recommend this place!!!
My family and I have been coming here for years, and we will continue to do so. The subs at Subway Station are amazing! I've never had one I didn't like, especially with their delicious secret sauce. The bread is always fresh, and we always have leftovers. The staff is always super friendly and congenial, and we usually don't have a very long wait time, even if they are busy. Also, can we talk about the amount of food you get for their prices?!? It almost feels like a bygone Era. One other thing I have to note, is that they have the good ice, if you know what I mean, you know what I mean. There is a reason they have been around for so long, and hopefully will continue to be. Check this spot out if you haven't!
The best SUBS ever! I've been eating here for over 30yrs! Love the sauce... get extra. I now live in Richmond and will easily make the 1+ drive!
Love this place. So different than Subway or subs you get from other places. Always friendly and very accommodating staff.
My Family and I Love The Subway Station so much we eat there 3 or more times a month! Their Secret Sauce is like none other. I always order extra!!! I get Club Car and my husband gets Atlantic City Connection. Always warm and Melty. The smell when you walk in is Heavenly! They also have the Best ice, small, round and easy to crunch! Don’t miss this Gem ❤️
This is probably the best lunch value in Newport News right now. The subs are really good, much better than a chain store.
One of my favorite spots of all time! My family has been going for over 10 years, we can’t get enough. Simple yet great subs with a delicious sauce. Friendly staff, fast service, cozy atmosphere. My family and I are moved away now, but when we can we make a special trip out for Subway Station. Can’t wait for my next visit!
