We got together for lunch to celebrate a friend retirement! Only 8 of us so small party but it was nice. I ordered the Thai salad! It was 14 dollars. A little pricey for lettuce but they had lots of cashews and the dressing was really good for a hit summer day. I git 2 meals out of the salad so the portions size was exceptional for the price. My friends got the Ruben on gluten free with cucumber! She said it was really good. They both liked theirs! One guy got the Shrimp and rice . Said it was good but said there’s a place in Williamsburg’s called Food for Thought who has the best he ever had. But he did like Second street’s also. Another friend got a burger and on got pasta! It’s all was delicious and wonderful to come back again! We did order drinks! The Poison Apple martini was great and the Rum drink on Happy hour was really good also! Also the staff was great! From hostess to waitress and waiter. It would have been nice if the manager came over to say hello! But over all ! I recommend this restaurant !

We chose Second Street for dinner after an early movie. The restaurant was busy but the hostess was able to seat us in a booth right away. Channing, our server arrived quickly; we ordered drinks and looked over the menu. There is a nice selection of items to choose from. I selected the Bistro pasta and my wife had the creamy Tuscan chicken pasta bake. Our drinks were delivered promptly. Our entrees came not long after that, almost too quickly. Both dishes were excellent…rich in flavor and generous in portion. We ate just half and Channing had our leftovers nicely packaged. Her service was professional and friendly throughout. This was our first visit to Second Street. We definitely recommend this restaurant!

Love this place. They have a few items that seem to stay on the menu, like the brussel sprouts. Then there are some items that are seasonal, like the pea soup. When the pea soup comes around try it. I promise you won't regret it. Most places are a disappointment this is one exception. The do it right. They always seem to have unique pairings that are fun to try. Some are obvious like lemon and basil in a cocktail and others are more adventurous, give the pickle fries a go. Go in have a nice lunch or dinner. They have brunch on Sundays. Happy hours are from opening to 6. Seriously they do good food.

We had dinner there tonight. The atmosphere is pleasing. Very nice bar area to have a drink while waiting for your table. I ordered the French Onion soup followed by the Beef Tip pasta. Both were excellent. My wife had soup and salad. The soup was excellent but she was a little disappointed with the salad. It was field greens with a slight garnish of pomegranate. She would have liked some tomatoes and cucumber to make the salad a little more interesting. We shared an excellent cheesecake for dessert. Service both at the bar and the table was excellent. it was a very good date night!

My husband and I went out for a date night. The food was delicious but what set this meal apart was our server Laura. She wasn’t just friendly and efficient. She was gracious and welcoming. She went out of her way to make a run of the mill Friday night date feel special. She was honestly the best server I’ve ever had the pleasure of having. We will definitely be returning.

My sister-in-law came all the way from Maryland just to eat at second Street bistro that’s how good the food is in the service is even better Shannon or a waitress was off the scale and so was the manager and or if I had employees like those two I would still be in business and the rest of the employees were awesome especially the girls working at the front door the food is an Undescribable it is so good we had to put it in our own category as unbelievable thank you and thank you Shannon for a wonderful time

On a trip to Newport News for my daughter's birthday and I decided to look up restaurants in the area. Loved the reviews so gave this place a try and I am so glad we did. Everything was delicious, but my soul on a roll chicken sandwich, perfection onion rings as well. The atmosphere was so lovely and our waitress and many others stop by our table to make sure we were ok which was a plus. If you're in this area this restaurant is definitely worth trying.

First visit today. The food and atmosphere was fantastic! The staff was the most important thing. They go out of there way to make sure everything is going well. Hard to find these days. Will be back!

Laura was fantastic. She provided great customer service and was continuously coming back to check on us. Will definitely look for her again
