The manager that was in the store today really knew how to manage customers and staff. He showed up just when the staff seemed to be a bit stressed with the growing amount of customers in the lobby. As soon as he showed up, everything was organized and orders were filled quickly! The staff seemed less stressed as well. The atmosphere on the inside was nice and the food tasted freshly made. Highly recommend.
The service was great and grateful they helped us to get the best meal.as possible.since they ran out of chicken when we were there.Just need a bit more cleanliness and the staff needs help to keep the pace....they definely needed more hands in the kitchen
Employment is rude and not worth it still fighting for my 1st check
Unfortunately as much as I love Popeyes, this location is the absolute worst. From poor management, to stale or undercooked biscuits, to overcooked and stale greasy chicken that was old and decrepit looking…along with never having 99% of the side dishes and no carbonation to any of the drinks…this place has got to get it together. People are standing around in the back not doing anything and everyone is blaming everyone. Manager no where to be found, food taste old like left overs….the worst part of this was that me and my mom BOTH got severe food poisoning from this location. Not only did I see them drop a chicken sandwich on the floor and put it back up in the line to be served, but they did it with a chicken thigh also. Disgusting….and I saw this while going to get my drink refill AFTER I ate already. This place needs a health inspector and to shut down for a few days to deep clean because it is so disgusting. The bathrooms look like their food tastes, moldy, stinky, dirty and unkept. I’ve been meaning to give this place a one star for awhile. I even stopped coming here for 2 years and decided to give it another try….horrible decision because now I’m home sick with projectile vomiting and fever. Good job Popeyes. Also the wait times are so sad and ridiculous. Y’all need some good training.
They was having a bad day very bad day. Fish, shrimp, and chicken batter was clumpy batter heavey but it was late when I visited so that last hour in most restaurants people are tired and don't give you same level of service. Good news they nicely and politely agreed to fix the things after I ask. Sad thing shouldn't have to ask.
Fries were horrible! Fried cod fish was great but way too much bread. Mild fried chicken was dry. Not Popeyes normal quality. I'm disappointed for $35!
Really wanted to give it a 5 star but my fries were cold. Staff was super. Girl taking orders at the drivethrough was super. Missy at the register was super. Chicken sandwich was nice and hot.
This Popeyes is by far the best one in our area in my opinion. I went inside because drive thru line was around the building, but whomever that manager was in there that night he was on the money.(He was kind of short, dark skin, I think he had tattoos on his arms, I think his hair may have been faded on the side) He was making sure to get those orders out in a orderly fashion, whether it was drive thru or the folks that were inside. He was getting it and was making it fun for everyone also. He was making sure that food was being cooked so they wouldn't run out. I mean his personality was outrageous and it rubbed off on his crew. They were outstanding. This is definitely my Popeyes from now on, I will keep driving from downtown Newport News to take a 20 minute ride to get fresh hot food and great service. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GUYS?? ❤️
All I asked for was a cup of water. They proceeded to give me the WORST cup of water i’ve ever had in my 19 years of living. It tasted like seltzer with hand sanitizer in it. I honestly don’t know if I’ll live to see tomorrow, it could have very well be poisoned. Was it spit in? Was it mixed with cleaning products? I’ll never know, but they do, those workers do, back there smirking and watching me take a drink of the most vile h2o I’ve ever put to my lips. God help this place.
I ordered Spicy Chicken and the chicken wasn't spicy at all. This particular store charged me an additional $.30¢ each for the Mac and Cheese without informing me of the additional charges! When I questioned the upcharge, I was told that's because it's not 'regular' Mac and Cheese. The Chicken Breast was so dry that it's almost inedible. The wings and drumsticks were tiny but juicy.
