My favorite spot to eat. Omg the sweet potato soufflé is amazing.
I enjoyed the Sunday brunch just moments ago! Saving my peach cobbler for later on tonight. I had the meatloaf which was so juicy and flavorful, best I’ve had! I also had the mac n cheese which was creamy and paired well. Lastly I enjoyed the greens which wasn’t too spicy and I liked that a lot! Got full off only half of my plate and I’ll definitely be eating here again :)
Nice people. Terrible caterers. Poor quality food. Poor service. Extremely unprofessional. Ran out of food even when I purchased 15 extra meals. I didn’t even get a meal at my own event.
Pork chops had no seasoning and very tough, collard greens had to much vinager, yams were bland. Don't waste your money.

I really don't like to leave bad reviews, but this is one I had to do. I would never, EVER, use or recommend this restaurant for any of your catering needs. They were hired to cater our wedding that was originally scheduled in November, but we had to postpone the wedding due to the world's recent COVID pandemic. We had already paid $1000 deposit, and we didn't want to lose that. They offered to allow us up to 1 year, to use the deposit. So, we decided that we would use them for my bridal shower, which was for 20 guest. Keep in mind that they were perfectly fine with the date change; but all of a sudden, I was told, via phone conversation, that there was a $250 tasting fee since we cancelled the wedding and changed to a different date. No where in the contract did it state there would be a $250 fee for tasting if there is a cancellation or date change. Let's keep in mind contract was NOT cancelled, as they did provide a service, on 10/17/2020. So, again why were we charged a tasting fee? Didn't want to make a big fuss about it, so I asked for an itemized receipt for the items listed below, however, I was provided with a new, and modified contract that showed these items:20 servings of Bang Bang Shrimp1 pan of Meatballs40 assorted pieces of fried chicken1 pan of Sweet Potato Soufflé1 pan of Mac and Cheese20 servings of pasta saladFruit TrayVeggie TrayFee ScheduleService Full Package Service ...... $750.00Tax 13.5%........................................ 101.25Gratuity 15 % .............................Total........................................ $850.25Now, the food...the chicken was not fresh, it had obviously be reheated, dry, no seasoning, looked as if it was fried in old grease with black specks, it was so bad that we threw away 30 pieces. The mac and cheese was dry, cheese only at the top, and not throughout. I say, if you can't successfully make these staples, then there is no need to be a soul food business. Ok, then there was the Bang Bang shrimp, mushy and was garnished with red cabbage and lemons...hmmm. Anyway, the fruit and veggie tray was ok. We did put the fruit tray on a nicer plater. Actually, we put everything on a nice platter, as I will not serve out of tin pans like they do a BBQ's. Meatballs, were just ok. The pasta salad was dry, and had to add to it to make it taste like something.I say all of this to say, we threw $1000 in the trash. It amazes me how people portray to run a successful business with excellent customer service once they get your money. All the other vendors worked with my fiance and I, and I really thought Ms. Mary's would have too. Well, I guess they thought they did by allowing us to use our deposit for my bridal shower, and I do appreciate that, but to provide us with a product that wasn't of quality or freshness was unacceptable.
I don't write reviews to often but this one I had to do. I hadn't heard of this place until three days ago. After seeing the food, tasting some of it, and hearing how much it cost. I could not believe it! Everything looked dried out like it was cooked days before the event and then reheated. Very bland there was no soul in that food. This was very disappointing to say the least. The total cost for this food was insane $1000, it wasn’t a lot of food and majority of the food was thrown away. I will NEVER recommend or go there to eat EVER!! I would say more but why! We learned our lesson!
Sad to say...my first experience with Ms. Mary’s will be my LAST. I was so disappointed. The pasta salad was dry with discolored tomatoes...the chicken was unevenly fried with no batter on several pieces...the shrimp were soggy with soggy garnish and the other food was just—ok at best. And...the cost???...didn't even come close to matching what was received, both qualitatively and quantitatively. I love to support my community but this time my community didn’t rise to the occasion. It was a very special day we were celebrating and thankfully, we didn’t allow this to steal our joy. I hope this review is taken seriously and used as a tool to be better. The food is beyond unsatisfactory! My sister and her fiancé paid $850 for food to be catered for 20 people! The food was horrible and to top it off we had someone else call requesting the same amount of food and she was quoted $350! When asked for an itemized invoice, we did not receive even after requesting several times! I do NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone not even for a quick snack!!
Run! In the opposite direction, away from here unless you have an unyielding need to eat food that is bland, dry and tough! Unless you feel that paying 1000 to feed twenty people is fair. I’m talking about feeding 20 people 40 pieces of dry chicken, of which we threw at least 30 pieces away because the were NOT palatable, a pan of sweet potatoe soufflé which was decent but not good, DRRRRRRY pasta salad in which we had to dump a whole bottle of vinaigrette and some salad seasoning into to resurrect, a tray of shrimp, and some dried out meatballs! At $1000/20=$50/person! For that???? But I’m Ok.You may be saying “Why did you agree to that?” Long story short, due to the pandemic my fiancé and I had to reschedule our wedding and the venue we had to choose for the dates we wanted doesn’t have Ms Mary’s as an approved caterer! You’d think the way the world is set up, vendors would issue refunds for events that can’t take place as planned due to this horrific virus. But I get it, that’s their livelihood. So she offered to let us use the $1000 we had paid as a deposit on another event! Ok cool! I was good with that. At least we were getting something for our money! I emailed the company and asked for an itemization for cost and of course never got one. You know why don’t you? Yep! Can’t justify that for those products.I was good with it and told my bride to be not to worry about. She complied. But when you get calls about how HORRIFIC the food was, not from just one guest but from ALL 20, it makes you wonder what’s going on. Obviously, according to her ratings on Google, I’m not the first one to have the same experience! But I do intend to warn as many people as I feel necessary about what I experienced. I emailed the owner about my disgust with our experience and she called me back visibly upset. We exchanged view points and at the end SHE HUNG UP IN MY FACE!? She was upset that she couldn’t confuse me or talk circles around me. But if it happened to her with some service, she’d be livid as well. Mind you, I emailed, she called. But it’s all good.I’m just telling you that THE TASTING WAS GOOD, but the food we received was horrible. I felt like a timeshare owner who purchased the model that was like the same quality they would be staying in, but when they arrive to check in, they got an old room that made the entire trip miserable!Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! We were told by others and didn’t listen. I fully regret it. It’s not about the money. If the god was great, and her guest were happy, I’d be smiling. After all, I paid to enhance an experience. This almost shut the bridal shower down! So glad my Babe and her friends are resilient and didn’t allow that to prevent them from enjoying their evening!GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. ANYWHERE ELSE. I’d bet It would be better than this stuff!!!!
