Great food at pretty solid prices! Came here with a friend on a mission to get some nice tacos, and we completed that mission here. I got an Al pastor taco, a chicken tostada, and rice and beans, and it was all great. I’m a tough critic of rice, and I loved this one, although I’ve had better Mexican rice (nothing wrong with it though!). The tortillas were handmade, but a little too thick and doughy - some bites you end up just tasting the tortilla at the end. The chips and salsa at the beginning: the chips were not made fresh there, you could tell they were from a bag, and the salsa was lacking a bit; no spice, quite watery, mostly tomato flavor. But they do have a salsa bar, which we discovered had some other excellent salsas - especially the green one!! Their green salsa is awesome. I also got an horchata, which, I don’t think I understand what a great horchata is, but this one (like most others I’ve had) tasted just like Cinnamon Toast Crunch milk. The tostada was amazing. It was my first tostada, and I don’t know much about them, so I don’t know if this one was super legit or quality or authentic or anything, but it tasted great (even though it was a little bit cold). The environment was okay, but they have two big TVs in the back playing Spanish music videos very loudly, and much of it was inappropriate, so that was a bit disappointing. Overall, I would come back again, though. Service was also very good and fast! I do recommend!
I like this tacos! They give you a lot of food! The food is good and tasty! They have a nice salsa selection and just recently improved the place. The place and bathroom are clean. The servers are really nice. The only thing I dislike is that the music is super loud. But if you are around Newport News and feel like tacos, go here :3 Try the quesadilla and the menudo *chef's kiss*
I was surprised that a strip mall place could be so good. Really authentic and I will be back. I have tried many things here and have not been disapointed.
My family and I loved this place. The food was good, the variety of salsas was good and the entire staff was amazing. We've never been to a restaurant where the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Definitely going to be visiting again ?
During this holiday time, please be patient with staff at restaurants and other businesses. They have enough problems dealing with understaffing and trying to please sometimes the same volume of customers while understaffed. They were definitely having an issue with staffing on Xmas Eve.My friend ordered shrimp fajitas and I ordered the carne asada with fries. The friend was very happy with her shrimp fajitas. My carne asada with fries were not my cup of tea. I remembered thinking, "why are you ordering that?" after the order came out of my mouth. When I return here I will definitely give the carnitas burrito a try.Despite the staffing issues, the staff present were pleasant while they were running around doing their best to keep the customers satisfied. I can't wait to return to try some different foods on their menu.
We stopped by for a meal while we were in the area for work. Service was great, food was even better. This place has a really nice variety of authentic delicious food, beyond what you would find at a typical taqueria. I ordered an assortment of tacos and, while everything was tasty, the beef tongue was out of this world. Probably the best I've had. Upon first bite, I stated "I don't know what kind of magic they put in this, but this is incredible. How did they make it so tender?" 10/10 I'd definitely return to this little gem if I am ever back in the area.
Order from them on Grubhub wanted the Giant burrito with a few extras they definitely came thru and made sure the stayed true to there claim of GIANT Burrito ? cause this thing is huge not only that for 11 bucks you can't beat it ??? will order from them again Ecspecially for the size and price??
My California Buritto was humongous!!! Great food! Little slow on service
We went for the second time last night, and it was just as good as the first! The staff is SO friendly, the food is absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere is great! It is much better than chain Mexican restaurants like Jalapenos or Plaza Azteca, and its cheaper! If your looking for a nice place for a casual date night, I more than recommend Los Paisas Locos! Warm chips, fresh meat, moist rice, and best of all - a free fresh salsa bar! Love it! Also, ask for beans with your chips if your not a big fan of salsa, its to die for!
Meh. Tacos were ok, nothing to write home about. Tortillas were good but they overcooked the chorizo to nearly burnt, carne asada was just ok, hot sauces were bland. I had higher hopes for this place.
