Definitely a place you could enjoy multiple times a week lol. I know I did... 2 days in a row about to hit it for the 3rd time and can't wait. Got chili cheese dog & fries.... FUNNEL CAKE FRIES BEST ONES I'VE HAD HANDS DOWN. Very very affordable as well.
Remind you of a mom and pop that your granddad may have taken you to as a child. Although the hotdogs didn’t have the snack that I want they were decent. The milkshakes were excellent the chili burger was pretty good
The Best "Dog-Dive" ? in Newport News! Old-fashioned hot dogs, burgers ? , and shakes ? with a wonderful community feel! Don't expect fine dining, just fast, courteous service with a smile ?Still the best! And 50 years old on April 1st, no fooling!!! ???
Great hot dogs and hamburgers and French fries. Delicious quick and fairly priced, You can't beat it for what it is.
I had never been here despite wanting to try it for years, place was pretty busy but service was super fast. I sat at the diner bar and talked with a cook who recommended a couple things. The whole staff was friendly. I got two hot dogs and onion rings. The chili and coleslaw with the hotdog was awesome. All this with a drink came out to about $13+tip. Quite reasonable in these times. I recommend giving it a go. It's been in business for 50 years, so they're certainly doing something right.
The best in town! I only eat charred (burnt) hot dogs - until I tried Hot Dog King. The only place for a chili cheese slaw dog and fries. So happy the pandemic didn't take them under. A weekend family Favorite

Been craving & good hot dog so my spouse had a doctor's appt. near by Gus Hot Dog King,so I figure let's try them out. We walk in & we are the only black people in there,alot of the customers sort of stop eating to focus on us,My spouse was not feeling it & nor was I so we decided to not eat there. Mind you the lady behind counter never greeted us but she greeted the white man that came in after us Smh? Not going to lie it hurt my feelings because I just knew we are not living in racial times anymore but We didn't get that feeling in Gus's I respect all people don't matter your race & expect same in return. I will cook my own dang hot dogs ?Stay Blessed
Who cuts a footlong hot dog in half? If I wanted 2 hotdogs I would have ordered 2 hot dogs. But if you get it to go, they don't cut it?. And they cut your bbq sandwich in half. Am I sitting in the kiddie section?
