We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this First Watch. While the food is always delicious (we enjoyed smoked salmon Eggs Benedict and two variations of French toast), the customer service was second to none! The hostess greeted us with a warm welcome and the servers were beyond cheerful and accommodating. If you're looking for a great breakfast/brunch/lunch place, move this to the top of your list.
First the good news: it is faster to get a table here than the once just off Mercury. The service is here excellent. Now the bad news: the food. presentation is a mess (food slopped all which way and all over the plate like someone was playing darts with the food and plate). Two times ago the side of bacon was jut too greasy to eat. We didn't. This last time the French toast absolutely horrible; only one side had been battered and the inside was completely raw (uncooked raw egg wash). I asked for light on the ice for my drink: in was mostly ice. In the future we will wait the extra 15 minutes for a table at the one in Peninsula Town Center because the food here off of Jefferson is not safe for human consumption; but the service was great and less of a wait for a table (wonder why?). We've given it a try 3 Sundays out of the month for about 3 months. I strongly suggest to try somewhere else as the food is a horrible here.
This was our first time eating at a First Watch. It was a great experience. The food was very good and there are a lot of choices. Half our group had breakfast, the other had lunch. All very good. The ambience is clean and modern. I would go back
Our first visit... Monday after Easter. The dining room was full. The menu is extensive with varied options. I loved that there was a single pancake option. My pancake was banana with almond granola. Delish! The eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked. Portions are generous, prices are very reasonable for the quality. Server was pleasant and efficient. I highly recommend!
My first visit but the quality of food and service were worth the wait. Our server, Charlotte, was patient, attentive and helpful with her recommendations. Now I need to find one closer to home as we were only visiting the area.
Pineapple Express is valid. However COMMA service is doo doo water. I mean cmon, 30+ minute of waiting just for TACOS, are you FORREAL DOG. The waitress was nice tho id say that. I would recommend you checking out the one in Hampton , it is smoother and faster. Trust me.This is the most legit review you’ll get. I am not a BOT. I’m the Karen 2.0
I love First Watch. But today specifically I had a great experience due to our amazing server Elijah! She was attentive and super polite, even with it being busy. I had an extra great time thanks to her!
Pretty awesome. Great farmhouse decore with a chill and relaxing vibe. Not too large a restuarant so noise level was minimum. Server was awesome and timely (forgot her name but she was tall with short blonde hair). We ordered the Trifecta with Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (it only comes with 1 Pancakes, 1 thick sausage [or meat choice] and 2 eggs). I didn't think 1 Pancake would be enough so I ordered another which was a mistake since the Pancakes are huge and super filling. We also ordered "The Works" Omelet which was pretty unimpressed. And bloody mary & a pomegranate tequila drink. The absolute BEST part of the meal were the cheese grits which you CANNOT DINE HERE AND NOT GET! We would come back for BOWLS of that alone!
I was pleasantly surprised. It was my first time eating there and thier food was good, fresh and healthy. I ate breakfast there 4 out of the 5 days I spent in Newport News. A good breakfast for 2 may run you $30 to $40. The portion sizes are decent, so either you'll be full or you'll have a decent to go plate by the time your done eating..
This place is pretty awesomesauce.The food is very delicious and they have great presentation as far as food and location and the place itself. Look at the pictures.Make sure to reserve your seat in order to not stand waiting forever.On the bright side there’s a community table too. It will serve just like regular table, but you’ll have other people there too. I liked itAs for my military pals, no they don’t have military discount. ?
