Excellent pizza and staff. While visiting the area, we have a family tradition of pizza on Friday night so selected Brickhouse Tavern after looking at the menus and reviews. As it was a Friday evening, it was very busy, really loud, and happened to be in the high 90s and humid that day so outside was no bueno and inside just a bit cooler. With it being as crowded as it was, it was super loud inside but my family is not bothered by that and we had a blast. There is a decent selection with some unique offerings but we stuck with pizza.Started with some vanilla items, mozzarella sticks and fried ravioli. Both were very good and not a crumb left. Pizza-wise we ordered the Greek, Brickhouse, Meatlovers, and Brickhouse calzone. All offerings were excellent. The small is definitely enough for an individual and the medium at least a 2-3 person meal. The calzone was also massive, tasty, and as the picture will show, basically a meat banana pizza!Next time we're in town, apparently I need to try their wings and some other menu items so I guess we'll sacrifice ourselves and eat here again. I just hope it's not as hot as Hades and we can sit outside. Lovely area.
I had a great experience, I will be returning to try out other dishes. I had the Greek salad and added artichokes, and my wife had a personal pizza that was amazing!Staff was very Friendly and welcoming upon entering. Overall environment was pleasant
Brickhouse is a nice spot to meet up and relax. There service is amazing. The servers always keep up with their tables and make sure you have everything you need. I've been going here for a year now and it's always a great time. I love sitting outside and now the weather is more than perfect to get a table a Brickhouse. Thanks and see you soon.
Man! I do not understand the reviews of this place. We wanted some pizza and the real Italian places were closed on Sunday night, so, BECAUSE OF THE REVIEWS, we decided to go here. What a mistake. I'll give them the wings. They were pretty good for $14 for 8 wings, but the pizza was crap. The crust was soggy and not very cooked. They billed it as full of ham and sausage and lots of other stuff and I guess you could find the sausage and ham with a microscope but I left mine at home. Oh...and I also ordered a tuna melt sandwich but it turns out it was canned tuna with cold bread, unmelted cheese, did I say cold bread and unripe tomatoes that were not edible and no mayo or anything to moisten what was there. Oh, the pizza was not hot either. Sorry guys. Look at my other reviews. I rarely leave a bad review. However, this place..Yuck!
I've been going here for years. It is a pizza place and tavern. The food is always good, and the pizza is excellent. The atmosphere is a old school (think *Cheers*). There is a great selection of craft beer. There is also a nice patio. This is a bar frequented by CNU students (the local university), so if you go late, expect a claustrophobic, rowdy, club-like scene.
Just went for the first time without to many expectations. This was a casual night. We sat at a table, and I went to the restroom which was not clean. Came out and I could not stay. You could feel the grease on everything. It was not a clean restaurant. I asked my husband, and he was feeling the same. Sorry, but we walked out without ordering! I have never done this before.
Wings were over cooked and just not good both my husband and I ordered them. My sons chicken tenders were also way over fried and tiny and we ordered the adult portion. One waitress for the whole place but she was pleasant
Very delicious pizzas. We went there with my co-workers during our lunch break. And we had a pleasant experience. Our orders were were taken promptly and were made exactly how we asked them to be prepared. Staff was very friendly and the environment was pleasant. We’ll be certainly coming back here again.
This was my first visit here after a recommendation from friends. I got the feel that they were understaffed, but they did alright! Our wings were hot (temperature, not spicy), fries were crunchy, and the crazy bread was so good. Just a heads up, the crazy bread is the size of a whole pizza. We left with 4 boxes to go, so for the price and we'll get at least 2 meals, a great deal!
Best pizza in the Hampton Roads area. Hands down. I can't speak to the rest of the menu yet but I thought that more than worth mentioning. Small place with a cool atmosphere on the inside, but could use some work on their outdoor seating area. If you're coming for just the food, best to not come during a big sports game.
