Just moved to the area and tried Zheng for the first time. Did Door Dash, which was more expensive, but I saw the reviews about delivery direct from the restaurant being painfully slow. Egg rolls had no meat (menu says chicken) and were just cabbage that was practically raw. Kung Pao Chicken had the perfect amount of spice, but it was VERY dry with almost no sauce, which is where so much of the flavor is. It also had zucchini in it (and a lot of it). This is my go-to dish at Chinese restaurants, and I have never had one with zucchini, and I don't like zucchini. It also had no water chestnuts, which is a normal part of the dish. I'm not writing Zheng off yet, but I'm not in a hurry to give it a second chance.
So this was my 1st visit back pre covid, and I have to say I was somewhat disappointed. The food was not as good as I had hoped. I forgot to take a picture but I ordered the house Lo mein. The flavor was somewhat bland and the pieces of pork just didn't taste quite right. My egg roll didn't have any meat in it at all. The service from the staff was good, but it will probably be a while before I go back again.?
Very sad Lil Chinese restaurant. Half dinning room is used for storage or maybe under construction. Food was bland.
The absolute best Chinese food place in the Richmond area. The food is absolutely delicious every single time and the staff is so friendly and kind. I will never go anywhere else. I wish I could give more stars!!
This used to be our go-to. In the last year, this place has gone bad and there's no recovery at this point. Tonight was the 3rd time we've had to wait well over an hour to get food delivery. I finally called after an hour and 5 mins to be told he would be here any minute. 25 mins later..... Then, the delivery person dropped the food at the door, in 30 F weather, and ran.... leaving the nearly $10 (30%) tip we put on the table by door. If we hadn't been on our way to the door because we have a motion detector in the driveway, the food would have been cold before we got to it. Guess they didn't want the tip. And after 6/yrs they should know we always tip well, and in cash. As we always have. Either way, between the incredibly Rude (new) woman who answered the phone the last time we called (and yes we order there enough I know their voices over the phone and who's new), and the service tonight, we're done. It's a shame. This used to be the best place in town. But hey, I got to keep my tip money, not that they deserved it after tonight. From now on I'll pick up at the Wok on the way home.
Best chinese food I’ve ever had. No complaints, just go and try it
This is our go to Chinese restaurant. Good food and reasonable prices. When we do pickup the food is always ready and waiting when I get there.
Literally the best Chinese food around. The lunch specials are such an amazing deal, and I just wish I lived closer so I could get this more.
Kind of disappointing, really. I tried the restaurant for the first time and based on the reviews, I was expecting to be impressed. I ordered a spicy dish and chose the crazy spicy option (spiciest of the 4 choices). When I got my meal home, not only was it not "crazy" spicy, but it had no heat at all! It was as if I had asked for a spicy dish to be bland and boring. I eat Chinese for the spice, so receiving a dish that had literally a 0 spiciness on a scale of 1 to 10 was very disappointing say the least. On the good side, my meal was prepared quickly and the service was friendly.
I just order online and omfg, their wait time is terrible. Currently, I ordered my food at 11:10am. I still haven’t gotten my food and it is now 12:21pm. When I ordered it, the online order said delivery was 11:40am. Quite disappointed since I do enjoy their food. I guess it’s time to find a more reliable Chinese restaurant :/
