I took my two teenage sons for a quick bit. Got 3 hotdogs, fries and a drinks = $35. Hotdogs were nasty broiled hotdogs, with a cheap food lion bun, with crap fires. Not worth the price and we will no tbe back under the new leadership
Something has changed. The last two times I've visited, the dogs were not as good as before. 4 of my hot dog buddies agree. What have changed? Please consider going back to the original!!!
Ate at Sam's today for first time; sign outside said "milkshakes" and sounded good and inexpensive. However, the two-hotdog combo was over $13, plus she added additional for the thimble of potato salad and I had added a small, but very watery chocolate shake. Add two dollars for tip for "service", and you have a very inflated, piss-poor meal. If you like chicken dogs, slurry-like coleslaw, watery milkshakes and approximately three tablespoons of potato salad, Sam's is the place for you. So many great places in Richmond where I could have had a great meal for $16, certainly under $20. They might switch to Costco hotdogs...at least there is some beef in them! Bon Appetit...yuck!

Very nice little Retro style hot dog place. Hotdogs were good quality beef. Chilli was very good. As a native Jersey girl/ metro NYC it doesn't compare but it's a nice spot to go take the kids.
Great hot dogs, really good toppings, and amazing service. We, unknowingly, came in 7 ish minutes before they were going to close. They didn’t say a word and made us fresh fries for our order. When I apologized for coming in and ordering right before closing they were so so kind and said “no no, that’s why we are here! Thank you for your business, think nothing of it”. Seems small, letting people come in when “technically” you are open, but I know how annoying that is and for them so be so overwhelmingly nice about it is amazing.
Decent menu, great tasting hot dogs. Need more locations and longer hours, always want one after 3pm.
Hot Dogs are so soft and delicious. Bread is light, warm and airy. Definitivamente recommend this place! Yum!!
Passing through the Atlee area and stopped at Sam's Hot Dog Stand. It has been awhile since stopping. Apparently, there are new owners. All I can say is I wish I hope the new owners of the "franchise" recoup their investment. The hot dogs are still excellent, the chili is excellent, the fries are excellent but the ambiance is like a sterile cafeteria in some big city with no character or charm carried over from the original place. If you just want a tasty dog and fries, stop by. If you're looking for ambiance and local flavor with locals you knew, keep lookin. You won't find it or them here for much longer!
Since January have given this location 3 tries to get it back right, to how it was, they have failed the hot dog world and put out a horrible flavorless over cooked soggy dog, they have changes their slaw multiple times and are super inconsistent. Restaurant depot condiments are beyond subpar and they claim they are following the Sam's franchise book. Prices are up quality is down super sad to say I won't be back anytime soon. See image when hotdog ends blow they are over boiled, this flavor is washed out. Oh well Richmond metro is still in need of another hotdog shop that's amazing.
