As the Director of Transportation for a local independents school, I was looking for a place host my bus drivers for a last day of school breakfast. Wanting to support a local small business, I called yesterday afternoon asking if they could seat a large party. Without hesitating, they said yes. All 29 of us showed up at 9:00am today. The staff did an AMAZING JOB keeping the coffee filled and getting our food ordered. Everyone was satisfied with their meal. We were done by 10:00am. Great job McLean Family Restaurant. Thank you for going above and beyond to provide the team with a memorable experience.

I really hate leaving bad reviews. Especially on a small family owned business, but my fiancé and I had horrible service for a dinner date. The food was okay but a lot of it was bland and tastes like frozen food you could get at the grocery store. The service was the worst part. Our waitress said maybe ten words in total to us the entire time. When you brought out the food she just set it down and walked away didn’t say a single word. Like we understand it can get busy but she only had two other tables besides us. She went multiple times to check up on the other tables and we didn’t get checked up on once. We were sitting and waiting for fifteen minutes to get refills but she didn’t even glance at us. It was almost like she was ignoring us. We could hear her friendliness with the other tables but we got none of that. We were tempted to not even leave a tip and we always tip around 30%. It was just horrible service and almost felt disrespectful.

McLean family restaurant is not a place to go. Despite being a nice family owned restaurant it has some issues. First of all if you want grocery store cereal served to you in a white bowl with milk and add $5 then it is the place to go, otherwise avoid it. Depends on the time but sometimes I have seen some quite rude employees and sometimes waited awhile waiting for someone to comeOver not that that’s what makes it 2 star but it contributes. The food there is not great you can get some of the same stuff at a grocery store and make it at home for cheaper and make it just as good. So if you are in McLean may I suggest Chesapeake bagel or the grocery store.

Yesterday my son was trying to remember the restaurant we had eaten in recently which was busy with patrons, had good vibes and good food. He wanted to return. It was Mclean Family Restaurant. Their eggs benedict is pretty darn good; my son's hash was spot on. Nice family breakfast.

Have not been here in years. My neighbor invited us. The breakfast options were plentiful. The portions are huge.

Came here for lunch. Beat the lunch rush. Quaint restaurant I think it’s family owned, definitely a local treasure. Heard Joe Biden likes to come here. They have a little bit of everything. Food came out hot at a timely manner, not much flavor or seasoning on food. Staff was friendly. Parking is limited due to strip mall parking style.

The food was amazing and they have great service.

This is a lovely place. Clean and well maintained. Everyone is so courteous and kind. Food was very good. I wish I had a place like this close to my house, I wouldn't have to cook so much! It was a pleasant time.

Good breakfast food. Their gyro platter was also delicious with very large portions. Waiter was very attentive.

Losing a customer has always been extremely hard for us at MFR. Losing one of our own is heartbreaking. Our beloved Elisa Bosch passed away on February 24, 2021. Lisa worked for our family for close to 40 years. She pledged her loyalty to the restaurant and for that we are forever grateful. Lisa’s infectious smile and warm inviting personality made her loved by all, both fellow employees and our customers. You will never come across a person more honest and she made the world a better place to live in. I think I speak for us all at McLean Family Restaurant when I say that I am blessed to have known Lisa and an even bigger honor to have called her my friend. We love you Elisa and miss you. ❤️Kapetanakis familyIf anyone has any old pictures of Lisa either at the restaurant or not please feel free to post them in the comments
