The food isjust not good. Sorry, we tried to like it but it was a no. Queso Fundito was decent. Chicken fajitas were cold and dry, they seemed very much like pre-cooked heat and eat, or leftovers from the previous day. Chicken enchiladas were odd, like chicken salad wrapped in a tortilla, with a bland green sauce on top. Chips and salsa were provided, but what the heck was up with the salsa? It's just weird. like a watery flavorless gruel. Which is a shame because the chips were pretty good. Sides-the rice tasted like a plastic bag, literally, and the refried beans were coagulated on the plate, like they were pre-dispensed and refrigerated on the plate at some point in the past. Our server was OK too. Not over the top good but adequate.
Had lunch with a co-worker at Uncle Rico's today and it was an excellent experience! The staff there were all very friendly and attentive. They knew the menu and did an excellent job telling us about it, as well as making suggestions. The place looks great! They're actually building a cool patio area that will have open an "breezeway" when the weather is nicer for some pretty decent alfresco dining! Their menu is pretty good and they have all the typical Mexican eats. They executed everything we got perfectly! Their free salsa and chips are excellent, as they are warm and fresh and the salsa is not only warm, but smokey as well. Their guac was really good and featured very fresh avocados! Their enchiladas platter was excellent, so was their taco platter and they do al pastor the right way, with pineapple! They serve a side of some really tasty rice and a cool presentation of their refried beans with their platters too. Definitely look forward to going back!
I have visited Uncle Rico’s three times since they opened. Wonderful new restaurant with a great friendly staff and superb food. Really enjoyed the huevos rancheros!! They also have a great selection of specialty sandwiches. Most of all it is a family owned businesses that really understands great service and food make a great restaurant
We went the first weekend it opened. We were really hoping this would be a new favorite for us cause it's so close to home. Unfortunately, it fell very short. The chips were thick and bland along with the salsa it came with. The guacamole had WAY too much lime in it. The beef in both our meals was tough and dry. The veggies in my fajita were under cooked. When I mentioned it to the waitress she said that's how we serve it. HUH? The service started out fine, but then it got busy and apparently our waitress went to the kitchen to help and didn't have any pick up our table. Reviews across the board have been very mixed. Hope they are able to figure it out.
The fajitas are tasty and generous. The bacon-wrapped shrimp are delicious, and their flan tops off a great meal. Oh! The guacamole is delicious too but you may have to add salt for yourself.
We had a nice meal at Uncle Rico’s. They serve large portions. The enchiladas were good. The sauce is different than I am used to. The fajita’s were good, but the vegetables need to be cooked a little more. Not sure if I like the chips. The salsa is more like Uncle Julio’s than Chuy’s. The staff was very nice. They just opened so they are still working out the kinks. The decor is nice and different. Hopefully they will get up to speed soon and stick around. We always like to support local restaurants. Overall We enjoyed the food and service.
We ate here tonight for my birthday dinner (went early due to bad weather). Had had some good recommendations on this place, and it is very near our house. Waitress attentive, though I had to ask her twice for silverware. Silverware does not include spoons. Good food simply done (shrimp was grilled perfectly) and it was so much food I had to ask for a box. Everything was very fresh and the hot food was hot. My husband had the pork tamales and said he enjoyed it. Menu pretty simple but some good choices. I'm sure we will be back soon.
Today was the first time I stopped at this Zips location. I was met at the door by Evelyn at 0658, who came out and told me the code to the drop off door and showed me how to use it. I was pleased to see how nice the people were at this location. My pleasure turned to disgust about 30 minutes later, when I was called by Evelyn telling me I needed to come back and pick up my clothing as it would not be cleaned today. She told me I wasn't registered at that location, which she knew 30 minutes prior because I asked if all the information from each Zips was shared with each other (her response was Yes!). I had specifically told her when she took my bag this was my first time at this location. She told me specifically we never spoke she only took my bag. She lied to my face and on the phone after hanging up on me. I asked when the manager was going to be in, she said they managed themselves. I asked when he was going to be in again, she said tomorrow because he was in school. I asked if she could call him to figure out what to do since I was 30 minutes away. Nope, since I needed my items cleaned today I had to turn around and head back to go get my clothing and take it over to the Westgate location sine there was no chance this store was even going to think about cleaning my items. I have never seen such horrible customer service, out and out disregard for people, complete rudeness, and to put on top of all of that lying in my entire life. I will be filing complaints with corporate, BBB, and anything else I can to try and remedy this. I asked my regular Zips the exact questions I asked Evelyn, their response was yes we will clean the clothes but there will be a balance, we have a way to get a hold of our manager if anything happens, and yes there is a way to get the credit card information into the computer if it doesn't swipe. Why is Evelyn lying? I also have the entire interaction on my phone on video, also I believe I have the earlier interaction on my dashcam where Evelyn told me about everything being interchangable between locations....
