They only had two servers and were still smiling! Had the Greek pizza definitely recommend!
I tried to eat at Waterstone for my birthday as it is typically one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Lynchburg. However, the experience was horrible and I can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon, if ever. We arrived at the restaurant at 6pm, 30 minutes ahead of the time that we were hoping to eat (6:30pm) as we were expecting a wait time to be seated since it was a Saturday night. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait, which we had no problem waiting for. When the 45 minutes, and then some had come and gone we checked in at the hostess stand and were told that it would likely be an additional 20-30 minutes. This was frustrating, however, I understand that wait times sometimes change slightly. As parties continuously existed the restaurant and we still were not being called to be seated, we checked again at the hostess stand and this time inquired if we could perhaps push any tables together or split our party up as there were 7-8 empty tables sitting around the restaurant. The hostess, who turned out to be the supervisor as well, was incredibly rude and assured us that she “knew how to do her job and configure her own tables” and that she would not be pushing any tables together. After passing the 1 hour and 45 minute mark for waiting I decided to inquire again about potentially pushing tables together as the restaurant was increasingly emptying. The supervisor/hostess again let me know that this would not be possible and reminded me that she had already told me this once. Shortly after 8pm, over 2 hours of waiting later the hostess/supervisor finally went and arranged the same 2 tables that had been sitting empty for 2 hours and allowed us to be seated. I am now convinced that the supervisor/hostess truly wanted us just sit and wait as long as possible or even was waiting hoping we would just give up an leave. Officially one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had and Waterstone has likely lost my business permanently as such.
UNBELIEVABLE that this restaurant does NOT have a changing table in the entire building so I was told after trying to change my baby! I had to go outside to my car to change her. Pretty bad start!!! And we were seated next to the bathroom, as if it were a good spot for kid with baby. Could have been a 4 star as the pizzas were good and our waitress too. But who now a days is so anti baby, kids, or family?
Great food, amazing service. Calamari was excellent.
They were short staffed but you couldn't tell by the service. The pizza's were amazing. We had the Supremo, Margarita, and white pizza. The red sauce was fresh and garlicky. My only critique would be serve salad dressing on the side. They were a bit too dry
Pizza and Caesar salad were great. Super thin crust, so a 10” pizza is perfect for 1 person. Our server obviously wanted us out of there. He dropped the check before we were done eating and then grabbed it before I even looked at it or put my CC down. He then hovered close by until I reviewed it and placed my card in the sleeve. Super rude. Great food, nice atmosphere but a rude server when we visited.
Service was good but the food was really over cooked. Unfortunately the pasta was mushy. It’s hard to find a place that executes gluten free pasta well, but the chicken was extremely dried out too. The flavor of the sauce however, was really good. I would just get pizza or a salad if you plan on stopping here because they offer gluten free options.
Friendly atmosphere! the pizza was perfect! There is something for everyone on the menu. I would rate them five stars.
This is an amazing place to savor a tasty thin crust pizza. The Greek pizza has rich toppings cooked to perfection. The servers were prompt and courteous and the ambience is warm and welcoming. The location and ample parking is such a convenience. Great place.
I don't usually rate places due to a negative experience, but I couldn't let this go. Called for take out. Person on phone had to ask someone if they were able to do take it, which I read as the kitchen is super busy. We place the order, 4 dishes, one special request of no cheese on one of the dishes due to a dairy allergy. Get put on hold. New guy picks up, and reads our order off to us. First 3 dishes are correct, including the no cheese request. Some random other stuff on our order, which gets corrected. 30-35 minutes for pickup. I arrive early, grab a beer at the bar. Food arrives 50 minutes later, so a half an hour after we were told. Get back to the hotel, special request of no cheese was ignored. So, I wait an hour for something I have to throw away. This review would be a one or a two, but the staff is really nice and they were busy and people make mistakes. But honestly, if you can't hold your act together when you're busy, you don't deserve to be busy. Won't go back.
