Fantastic burnt ends, brisket, ranch style pinto beans and pork nachos. Can’t wait to try their ribs, pork burrito, and burger. Super friendly staff. This place is the real deal if you like BBQ.
This place is amazing! I don't go to this part of town very often but I ended up at the nearby UPS Store and the manager nearly insisted that I eat dinner at Pok-E-Joe's. I asked him what he'd recommend and he told me, without hesitating, The Texas Destroyer. I'm REALLY glad I listened to him! The Texas Destroyer is, quite possibly, the best sandwich I've EVER eaten. I was so effusive in my praise that the server sent the owner over. The owner, Corey, explained that he's owned the restaurant since 2019. He obviously takes great pride in his restaurant, staff, and especially the food he serves. I'll be back soon!
We went to eat here Friday. The staff is very friendly the minute you walk in the door. I find that rare these days. The lady that took out order knew everything on the menu and even suggested what we got based on what we were in the mood for. She nailed it. The food was quick, awesome, and fresh! I got a club wrap. The tomato tasted home grown. We will be back.
the 1st time I have ever had a beef rib but the tatse and flavor was awesome. The specialty pork sandwichs and suaces are the best I have tasted. the service is top notch. If your in the area don't miss out stop in get some great food.
The food was amazing! The owner is super nice and friendly. The food is fresh, hot, and served quickly. If you’re looking for smoked meats, this is the place to go. We had the smoked pork BBQ Burrito and Texas Destroyer brisket sandwich, followed by banana pudding. You can also buy by the pound.
Public Enemy was wrong!! You can believe the hype! This place serves some very scrumptious food. I can see why a previous reviewer ate here 3 days in a row. I had the Texas brisket sandwich. Perfect brisket. Wife had sliced brisket sandwich. Fries and fried pickles excellent as well. Good selection of local craft beer to wash it all down. We’ll be back
I travel to Lynchburg for work, visited this restaurant for lunch and dinner. The service was fast and friendly! The food deserves 10 stars! It is truly unparalleled. The place is small but cheery and friendly. I would eat here everyday if I lived in Lynchburg! The Texas brisket is to die for, the macaroni and cheese is delightfully cheesy, the brisket beans are smoky and sweet and the sauces are hands down the best around! Do yourself a favor and try it out, you won't be sorry!
My son graduated from Liberty University this past weekend and we used Pok-e-Joe's to cater his graduation party. I am a huge bar-b-q fan and have eaten a lot of it. The food was fantastic! Pok-e-Joe's just took the NUMBER 1 spot in my book! The portions were huge! The customer service was 5-star and Cory, the owner, is GREAT! It will now be THE place go on future trips to Lynchburg, VA.
Great food, good service. I have had just about everything the menu (or bit of it) is all yummy! The service is pretty good but sometimes of the wait staff could be a little more friendly.
Always delicious with fast, friendly service. I’ve tried several of their burgers as well as their BBQ and everything has been great each time.
