This is supposed to be general tso with fried rice. It is hard as a rock and totally over cooked. Even my egg roll was over cooked. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time spending your money here. When I told the cook he said this is very popular and that this is how he’s done it for 30 years . This totally ruined my day and my lunch. I will never go back there again!!! Thank you!!!
The service was very good but, unfortunately, the food was not great. The coating on the Orange Chicken was sort of “gummy” for lack of a better term (almost tasted undercooked, but the chicken inside was certainly cooked all the way through. The Lo Mein noodles were really bland, but the texture was good. The Spicy Pork was good, but not amazing. And the Beef and Broccoli was just “okay.” Being new to Lynchburg, we will try a number of other places before trying New China again. I’m sure some people love it, which is great, but it wasn’t our cup of tea.
Have been getting food from them for years.. Brian and Janet.. On my last visit a few months back now they were very busy and had a line waiting for pick ups. After 10-15 min I went in the direction of the restroom.. Janet yells out Dale, no no, restroom closed.. I was somewhat bewildered.. They are running a set down restaurant. After waiting a little longer I had to leave the line and go to the pizza place beside them to use the restroom.. They didn't care, special time she says... Covid... I found a new place King House, better food and larger portions
Lovely little place in the heart of Lynchburg.Must have!
The people were rude and the food wasn’t cooked properly. I had shrimp in my meal that were spoiled. I didn’t even try to get my money back. There’s no sign saying no dine in but they will discourage it and only let you eat in if you agree not to ask to use the restroom. Bizarre but true
Myself and about ten other people have been waiting for our food we ordered an hour and a half ago. The two person staff keeps taking orders over the phone, but no food is coming out. This is awesome, I’m very pleased.
We were in the mood for some Chinese food and elected to try the New China Restaurant. It is take-out only at this time but has several tables if you need to wait after placing an order in person. It seems that most customers had ordered by phone and there was a steady group of people picking up their dinners. We tried the chicken lo mien and the Hunan Triple Delight as well as some Wonton soup. The food came in about 15 minutes, was plentiful and inexpensive. The taste was good but not great. The menu is quite extensive so there are plenty of options.
I kid you not, I’m very picky over my Chinese food but this has been the best one I’ve had in Lynchburg. My go to for lunch!
Good food fast service
Our go to for Lo Mein. We get food here at least once a month and have always been pleased.
