Former employee from 2006-2009, just checking in to see if the place is still open. Really good employers, lots of repeat customers, and I remember liking the food, too. Glad to see they’re still kickin’ and in business.

Amazing! I was out of my area and looking for a place for an early dinner. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent I will definitely eat this place again whenever I’m back in the area.

This small family owned business is the true definition of the American dream. This family puts their heart and soul into thier business. The father cooks, mom helps and their daughter takes care of all the tables. Their daughter is in high school and spends her afternoon helping the family run this amazing little place. The food is lovingly prepared to order. It's not cooked ahead of time so it may take a little longer, but don't worry, it's worth the wait.Thank you for making such an awesome mom and pop restaurant.

Some of the best chips, salsa, and cheese dip I've had. The food was good too. The only problem was the rice. It was overcooked and basically disintegrates in your mouth. It tasted like the cheap rice you buy that comes in a box from the grocery store.

A little hole-in-the-wall place, we went for lunch and had a wonderful time! The lady running the place was super sweet to us and the food was delicious. I will so be going back for more!

Food was good. Service was fine. Kinda close quarters for conversation. You feel you have to whisper with your other guest.

To make a long story short, a customer was waited on before us. We were already sitting down when she came in. I noticed she had her chips so I mentioned it to the waitress. She told us that she was ready to place her order. I told her that we had been waiting to place our order. Just because I'm glancing over the menu doesn't mean I'm not ready to place my order. Usually the waitress will come to see if you're ready. She had a bad attitude with us. We decided to leave so when we got up she just grabbed the menus from the table and left. We have never had a problem there before. The owner has always been super nice. They were not busy at the time. We have always been patient because it's usually the owners and their daughter. But this time, how we were treated and her attitude we just left. If she had said I'm sorry we would have been okay. They have lost us as customers.

Phewww okay… this restaurant is incredible. It is SET APART from every other Mexican restaurant in town in Lynchburg. Truly not just authentic and warm and family owned, but just amazing amazing food. When I call for an order, I live to hear the voice on the other line. The queso fundido is incredible and I get it every timeThe platanos fritos… oh my goodness. Please order. The portions are great and the flavor is like no other food I’ve had. I’m half Mexican and I have to say the food might be even better than my abuela’s (lo siento abuela) and she would also love it. There are certain things I’m picky with and I dislike 99% of all refried beans. I could eat these by themselves. SO much flavor. Everything I’ve had here is wonderful, and my roommate and I are proud to support this place and buy from them as often as we can. If you’re looking for the best Mexican food in town, this is all there is in my eyes. I don’t think I’ll eat anywhere else ever again. I’ll be a regular as long as I live here and beyond

Place was easy to get to. Good food and friendly staff

For starters I’ve lived in the area for most of my life and yesterday was the first time I’ve heard of La Fogata. We were looking for a “new to us” place and I’m glad we gave it a shot.Like many Mexican restaurants in the US you start off with chips and salsa, which for me establishes the kitchen’s ability. The salsa was excellent, spicy and flavorful. From then on I knew the entrees would be legit and we were not disappointed in any way. Great, flavorful food with a surprising price point. From what I saw it appears to be a family run spot so that’s another reason why we’ll be coming back. If you like Lola’s you will be pleased with La Fogata
