I have been enjoying LaCa since about 1989. It is delicious. The staff is always friendly. Service is always excellent. It's been awesome since forever. Recommend
Not the greatest Mexican food ever but not the worst either. Got the job done. 4 stars because of only 2 mini tortillas with my fajitas.
Being from Texas, it is hard to compare Mexican food to any others. La Carreta came very close to “home” but not quite. We’ve eaten there several times and can say the food is good though.
We had a late night snack last Friday night that we picked up curbside. The chicken quesadillas was delicious and the mudslide was too. We will definitely do this again sometime.
Always love stopping in. Even with absolutely no parking the food and wait was so quick. The chili relleno really has no pepper on it.
Now I have been to this location several times and the food be on point (smell good, look good, taste good)!! But tonight was the absolute worst and I am sooo disappointed! I ordered the fajitas Texanas and my veggies looked like mush, the lettuce had started to brown and the pico de gallo was not fresh! And again I know they can make great food cause I have tried them before and loved it. Then the service was horrible tonight as well. When I tried to order something else the waitress Elma refused to take the unappetizing food back. She was so rude telling me I had to pay for what I ordered. I never touched my food and was not eating it so why I could not return it I don’t understand. There was nothing posted saying I couldn’t return something that looked nasty. I hope Elma receives better customer service training because she was rude and please let her take the $17.09 before tax meal home to eat since she thought it looked good enough to eat.
Coming from San Antonio, Texas and living in Virginia for 5 years…this place is the best place for Mexican..no disappointment here! The service was spot on and their salsa was excellent with so much flavor! The topper is the homemade flour tortillas! No place in VA does that…while in SA it’s a given!!! It is sad that we are only in Lynchburg for one more day..only here for my son’s indoor track state championship…great job La Carreta!
Lifetime resident of Lynchburg. This place is excellent, La Caretta is a staple of the community. From the design of the building to the food and service is all top notch. Ignore any negative reviews, there’s always some sour apples in a bunch, and maybe some bad experiences to be fair, but I’ve always been satisfied coming here. Highly recommend this restaurant.

chili relleno…??? I ordered off the à la carte. One tamale and one chili Relleno. The tamale had a good flavor the meat was so so. The relleno is not a poblano at all. Just cheese and sauce on a plate. If you want a relleno maybe order the poblano. Server was great! Chips and salsa good. Guacamole was ok
