Koto.... This used to be an awesome place to go to in Lynchburg... Sadly, I had not visited in 10 years or more. To start with when you enter the door there is a sign that states an automatic 18% tip will be added to your meal...this should have made me turn around immediately. The place is nasty, carpet is dirty and stovetop and chairs and everything has a thick layer of sticky unclean look....the place needs to be torn down. Sat to take order and ordered food...no appetizer shrimp or onion soup (like every other hibachi I had ever been to) chef at adjoining table did a small show for the other table...our chef came out did a small show (unimpressed) and the fan for the table was so loud and old you couldn't hear the chef talk or even myself talk. The flattop was too hot and the chef burnt my rice to the point of it being inedible and overcooked my lobster and chicken....as quick as he came he was gone. I strongly advise anyone from wasting their money on this place. You will get a better show at Osaka and it's not even a hibachi that cooks in front of you. I don't get sushi because I had heard the sushi is frozen and not prepared fresh.
Food was disgusting, no flavor, very small portion of vegetables and yum yum was nasty tasting. Very disappointed
this is a meal i absolutely loved ,great food that is cooked right in front of you (hibachi style) fantastic
We’re from out of town from Ga for my wife’s graduation at Liberty University and decided to try this place out , as soon as we were seated we noticed the table was wet . So we asked the lady that sat us down at the table could she wipe the table because it was wet still which she did but for some reason I sensed attitude. So while sitting waiting on someone to take our order we noticed people who were sat after us having their order taken . So after about 10 minutes we decided to leave , at that time our server was on the way to give us our soup but it was too late we decided to leave and we went to Red Lobster where we were treated like real customers .
Great personalities love that its fulfilling, and the show is fun
My family just had a terrible experience at Koto. We were a party of four. Both women in our party went to the restroom before sitting. The waiter sat the two of us and immediately asked if we were ready to order. We said we’d wait for the women to return and look at the menu. The second they returned, he asked if we were ready to order. I asked him to give us a few minutes to look at the menu. He returned two minutes later and asked again. I really hate being rushed at an ex
First, let me say this, our cook was great!! Can't remember his name. Everything else was horrible. Apparently coming at noon on a Sunday is not lunch. Our server said "oh he just switched to dinner." I told her I was confused since it is lunch time. She said well he changes the start of dinner time when he wants to. That straight up contradicts what the sign outside says. The waitress was clueless about all the prices, what the early bird special was, and failed to mention that the filet adds $2 to the early bird special. She did admit that it was her fault so she left that amount off.
Excellent place. Food service price etc. Top notch
Really great place. Our chef was quite the performer, the service was excellent, & the food was awesome.
We had a party of 15 and made a reservation, yet we still had to wait for 20 minutes when we arrived. Other than that, it was a great experience. Very family friendly.
