Atmosphere was good, but the food cut a lot of corners. My wife got a dish that was seafood covered in a thick sauce. The shrimp still had the shells on, which you couldn't see because of the sauce - she only found out when she put it in her mouth. There were also bits of mussel shell in the sauce itself, not a pleasant surprise!I had a pizza, which was very salty and pretty bland.Dessert had whipped cream out of a can and low-budget (bland, dry) ingredients. Normally not bad, but for a $10 dessert, not good...Overall a disappointment. When we want a fancy night out again, we'll probably just go back to Isabella's
Overall I give it a B. It was an enjoyable experience. Our experience seemed to agree with the other reviews we read before going.Great vibe, great drinks, great service, really great dessert, but so-so food (which is kind of the most important part). Wouldn’t come back for the food, not worth the price/quality. The pizza tasted better than the pasta (I think we got the beef ragu?).
One of my favorite Italian restaurants. I love the view and atmosphere with the outside bluff seating . It’s nice because you can bring your dog to sit near you . The food I personally find to be really amazing and they will work with you if you ask for a customized entree . I get the chicken Alfredo with mozzarella and Broscuto.
Pleasant restaurant with a great view along Lynchburg's downtown bluff. Our meal this evening was a 50/50 split along the satisfaction scale. My meal, the Italian Sausage & Peppers with Rotini was excellent and the house Pinot Noir was superior (smooth with delicate notes of cherries or raspberries). However my wife's Papardelle Bolognese was very sad; it lacked taste and the pasta was stuck together....it reminded me of a Hamburger Helper meal. If only my votes counted, I would have given Fratelli a solid 5, however we can't ignore the lackluster meal my wife had.
Food was great, salmon done perfectly, special dish of scallops & linguine was delicious. Food came out with little wait time and hot. Our server Brian was very accommodating and attentive. Would definitely go back.
Did a birthday dinner here and had SO much fun! Reuben was an AMAZING server!! Great wine list and the food was immaculate. Will be back!
The service was excellent. The food was delicious.
Second time. Hits and misses. Just a bit disappointing. White tablecloths, dark decor, staff in black, with long aprons. Trying to feel upscale and intimate, but not really hitting it. We had a reservation for two. When we arrived, the hostess directed us toward a side table in the bar. This is where we were seated the first time. Right on the path to the elevator. Too much traffic, and I hate sitting in front of televisions. I had requested a dining room table when I reserved online. Fortunately, we were accommodated in the dining room.As we seated ourselves, I realized the exhaust fan noise from the open kitchen 30 feet away was quite apparent. Not unlike being in a subway tunnel. Definitely made the "intimate" atmosphere less so. This was to be a delayed Valentines Day dinner for us.The menu hasn't been obviously changed from our previous visit. We ordered cocktails and dinner, as the appetizers were still too substantial for us. Our drinks arrived quickly as well as warm sliced rustic bread and a dish of seasoned olive oil. No bread plates just the two serving plates. A bit awkward, as we waited a few moments for bread plates to be brought. We gave up and managed without, as our server didn't come within calling range. At least we got bread this time.Hubby ordered the chicken parmsean and I went with the Italian sausage and pepper pasta. These were brought out quickly. My pasta tasted Wonderful. The sauce had a fair amount of (red pepper?) heat. The sausage was delightful. My rotini pasta was broken up and didn't look nice. It wasn't overcooked, just "abused" looking. Hubby's chicken parmesean was well received. There was a thick slice of mozzarella on top of the sauced breast and the chicken had a nice brown crust. I was a bit surprised to see white, "naked" pasta underneath the piece of chicken - a dab of sauce underneath would have improved presentation. Our server missed a chance to upsell us glasses of wine when we did not want cocktail refills. It occurred to me that wine would have been nice with our food, but we weren't asked. We'll likely return once weather warms and try sitting outside. But I can't highly recommend the experience.
A friend and I had dinner here last night. For the price of the food, definitely not worth it. I ordered bruschetta that came out on white untoasted cold bread and she ordered Calamari which was a pale color. The ribeye, mediocre at best. Now we’re seeing pictures online and see it’s definitely not that in person. For the money, use it wisely and go somewhere else.
The atmosphere was fantastic, the waiter was great... from beginning to end the food was a disappointment. We really wanted to like this place. If looking for a good meal, look elsewhere.
